Would you be able to point me in the direction of a policy/company that provides this? As far as I was aware these policies stopped being sold over seventeen years ago as my dad had one to drive my car, after this period he was never again able to get it.
My insurance (Saga) allows me to drive any car, so long as it is insured, in an emergency.I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0 -

Many policies do, mine included. However that is very different from the one mentioned previously which was a policy that allowed ANY driver to drive your own car. This seems a far rarer and vastly more expensive one unless there were restrictions on age so it wasn't really an ANY driver policy.
The OP has said they have no car so they therefore have no policy to have this driving other cars benefit on but the sister may have arranged insurance to cover the journey.shaun_from_Africa wrote: »in the way that it was asked isn't IMO, out of order.Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0 -

So the point raised was a good one.
It's a money making thing you see...
No argument that it was a useful point to raise, but the fact that it led to an off topic debate on completely irrelevant matters means if I was the OP, I'd be unlikely to return. That wouldn't make me a troll.
Too many people on here are too willing to call troll. Some forums have a rule that means that members get suspended for calling troll. Perhaps, mods, this forum needs such a rule, as it happens too often here.
A court clerk raising the insurance element is vanishingly unlikely to happen, if not impossible. What business would it be to a court clerk? They aren't the CPS and aren't employed by them. The central ticket office and the police are also unlikely to unless the OP draws too much attention to themselves, but could if they so wished.0 -

To be fair, if you were talking to him, face to face, he wouldn't know if you were literate or not, so wouldn't be able to judge nor proclaim.
You'd have to be face to face, but communicating in written form.0 -
