Current market carnage - anyone selling or buying?

Here are a few words from the last 2 pages of this thread:
doomed
carnage
slump
charity
worried
pressure
losses
cataclysmic
crash
depression
meltdown
red flag
These are all words that should fill us with hope. Warren Buffet urged us to be greedy when others were fearful. That tracker which used to cost £71 now costs £58, yet it is exactly the same bunch of world-beating businesses. That hydrocarbon which used to cost $100, the fuel of global growth itself, now on sale at $29. This should make our hearts sing.0 -

But where else do you put your hard earned?.
I'm not confident about equities, or commodities, or cash, or property, or gold etc etc. So I just aim to have a bit of each and hope for the best.“It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends on his not understanding it.” --Upton Sinclair0 -

I am quite happy I can get fuel for 99.7p per litre. Long may the tumble continue.
I would be lovely if the UK market crashed to 3,500 it would be stacked to the gunnels with bargains.0 -
I have a feeling a few people have been investing beyond their risk tolerance.0

Unlike yourself who is an investing genius? !
Shame this type of thread, which are usually a good read, can be spoiled by this type of trolling.
AFOS..given it's the weekend and the schools are off, don't you have a shopping centre to go and hang around?0 -

Well I am not the one showing signs of the jitters now it's all going down the gurgler am I?
I don't profess to be a genius but as a novice I haven't done too badly you know. I am glad I offloaded Tesco when I did.0 -
To restore some normality...
My portfolio is currently down 6.3% this year.
But it only represents 35% of my liquid assets (a bit less than that now...).
Furthermore, the portfolio is still up 4.9% on the year to date, and showing annualised growth of 13.8% over five years.
None of it is invested in things whose value can fall to zero. Unless capitalism collapses.
This current situation in absolutely normal. The tide comes in and the tide goes out, but the sea level rises over time.
Anyone who makes a fuss over a normal scenario ought not to be invested in it.I am one of the Dogs of the Index.0 -

Thanks to those who have thanked for this post confirming its not invisible - I was beginning to think it might because flock of sheep doesn't appear to have seen it“It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends on his not understanding it.” --Upton Sinclair0
