Some one parked in front of my drive way
Comments
-
Someone parked partially over my drive years ago.
When my ex husband got up at 4am to get ready for work he discovered it.
He had to ring the police as we had no idea what house & it was far too early to go knocking. The police came & they made the driver move his car, all before 5am.
He didn't do it again.
Presumably NOT in Slough.

They are two entirely different scenarios.
I think it is a bit of a dig at the competence of the people allowed to run around with guns and shoot us in the street.
However, you could end up being mistaken for a terrorist by someone who calls it in and over-eggs the pudding, then being ordered by armed Police to drop your weapons, and when you turn round to see who it is that they are shouting at, getting shot, which I think is what happened to the chairleg man.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

You are making it sound as if getting shot or killed by the police in the UK is a common everyday occurrence.
2014. 1 person killed.
2013. 0 persons killed.
2012. 1 person killed.
2011. 2 person killed.
2010. 1 person killed.
If you were to check on the number of unlawful shooting cases involving the police in the UK over the past 10 years you would be able to count these on the fingers of one hand, and although I agree that one innocent person getting killed is one too many, as long as there are humans involved, there will always be mistakes and accidents.0 -
That esculated quickly from an inconsiderate parking matter to terrorism pmsljust because you are paranoid doesnt mean to say they are not out to get you0

There are lots of "entirely different scenarios" in which innocent people have been shot by the Police.
If carrying a chair leg in a bag, running for a tube train or just sitting in a car can result in the Police shooting, then it is not unreasonable to foresee a situation where walking towards a car displaying an IS flag might also end badly.
You're making no sense.
I could get shot by the police for any number of reasons by accident. Displaying an ISIS flag is not a reason to be arrested, let alone shot.0 -

True, there have only been 16 people fatally shot by the Police in the last 10 years (more get trampled to death by cows) http://www.inquest.org.uk/statistics/fatal-police-shootings (SW won't count as he didn't die) and as you say, very very few end up as unlawful. 1 according to the above link.
It wouldn't be unlawful though if information received led them to believe that there was an armed terrorist and they were acting to preserve lives.
However, rare though it is, I wouldn't walk the streets waving an ISIS flag with the country currently on SEVERE terrorist threat level (i.e. an attack is highly likely to happen)

Still, to get back on topic, I bet the offending car has gone now anyway

It wasn't a dig at the Police who generally do a good job in difficult circumstances.
But, like all of us, they sometimes make mistakes and I was merely pointing out that you don't have to be committing a crime to risk getting shot by the Police.0 -
friend with real 4 x 4, strap or tow rope, problem solved, amazing how quickly the indiscriminate parker appears when they hear the sound of their tyres scraping along the road...but they couldn't hear the sound of a horn ten minutes earlier.0
