Has anyone seen the fireproof/waterproof safe boxes that Costco are doing? Am thinking of getting one - looks like a good price at approx £30

I have seen safes there before and thought of getting one, my wife normally persuades me otherwise. £30 sounds like a really good deal, do you happen to know which model it is? Is it a proper miniature safe or more like a cash box?

On a seperate note, I was recently looking for a shredder, our old one went kaput! I ended up getting a Fellowes PS77Cs from Argos for £99. Costco had a similar model on sale for £91 (I enquired by telephone) I went with the argos option as they have branches much closer to home and I had limited time to get a shredder and a ton of shredding to do. I probably would have saved a few pounds, even after return journey by car, but the effort was not worth it on that occasion.

My main plea to Costco UK is IMPROVE YOUR WEBSITE!!! If you look at the Costco USA website, it shows you items that they sell, like argos does, so why can't we have it in the UK?

My dog is really fussy, but she always eats Autarky no problem, it is very good value too. We had tried almost every dried complete dog food available and finally tried this one as a last resort, very glad we did! :j

Our 2 miniature schnauzers both love their Autarky! They were previously on Royal Canin and the prices they charge are a total rip-off IMHO. We used to get an 8kg bag of Royal Canin for approx £30. We now get a 15kg bag of Autarky from Costco for £10.99! We've checked the ingredients of both foods and can see no reason why Autarky isn't actually more expensive than Royal Canin!
    Call me Carmine....

HAVE YOU SEEN QUENTIN'S CASHBACK CARD??
  • Costco is great. It's like having a personal shopper because you feel that everything in there is good quality.

Today I bought a ladies Trespass hooded microfibre jacket for £10.99 plus vat and I've since looked on the internet and it's £20+ everywhere else.icon7.gif

I'm also looking to buy a BBQ for the summer. I saw a Leisuregrow 6 burner BBQ for £379 (which includes vat) and again I've checked on the internet and can't find one for less that £520. icon14.gif

    I think it's this one :-

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sentry-F2300-Fire-Safe-Waterproof-Document/dp/B00006IBHM

It's in the offers book for this weekend, with £5 off so you get it for just under £30. Very good offer I thought. I got one for myself but have also asked my family if they need one as it seems a bargain..

When I was there also got :-

    - Pasta filled with ham/cheese for £3.99 for 3pk
    - Cottage pie x 3 for £10.89
    - Bakewell tarts 11pk for £3.99 (so nice!!!)
    - A selection of onion bajis/somosas/one other item for approx £6
    - Section of 30 cards for £10.33 I think - the quality is fantastic for the price and I was very pleased...
    - One safe as mentioned above for just under £30

Question - has anyone tasted the duck dumplings that they had in the pasta secton, they looked really good but never have them in stock when I visit???

    Thanks for that Summer01.

The pasta parcels sound like a good idea, my boys love them, and I am sure that is much cheaper than Tesco or the like. I will be looking out for them on my next visit. Good thing about pasta is a long shelf life, so we could buy two packs and easily use it by the best before date.

We are just using up our last big bottle of Comfort fabric softener that we got from Costco, before we start on the big bottle of Kirkland fabric softener that we got a few visits ago. Anyone tried it?Is it any good? It comes fitted with a tap system, lies flat on your wortop or in your cupboard, you screw off the see through cap and pour some in. Seems like a good system, just hope the stuff is good.

We also like the Tuff Crates. I am in the slow process of putting everything in our loft into them. Rome was not built in a day.
  • I got the kirkland fabric conditioner and washing detergent Mr Spock. The conditioner seems to do the trick and smells nice and the detergent is good value as you only need a tiny amount - its concentrated. Does the washing as good as other known brands.

Also get the Kirkland cat kibble which my kitty seems to thrive own. Used to get hills science but a huge bag of kirklands is only about a £12ish.

The duck gyōza? Yeah, I liked them. Slight pain to cook if you actually follow the instructions though, as they say you should steam them for a minute after frying. Definitely worth a try though, and you'll probably get away with not steaming them.

Thanks for that Hennagirl. Which Kirkland washing detergent do you use? Is it a liquid? I think I have seen great big tubs of powder, but we are new converts to liquid. The last lot I got from there is Persil non bio concentrated liquid, if the Kirkland one is just as good, but cheaper, I will definitely be giving it a try.

Good new to hear that the fabric softener is good and smells nice too.

If you've got a Waitrose near you I think they sell them too, in single packs rather than multi.
