op -for the purist here, it's a pity you made subsequent contact with p.lie or eekwit despite being firmly advised against doing so, which is not to say |I don;t understand a newbie's panic.

Would have loved to let PP have the running of this one in its entirety, from #1 onward. Could have been even more tasty..............)))

    This is the theory.

The RK has the same (or similar name to the OP) but is a different person. PE have tried to locate the RK by using a credit reference agency. The Credit reference agency has discovered a different person to the RK with the same or similar name.

If this is their game plan, then god help all the John Smiths out there !:rotfl:
  • Sounds like SaSuz had correspondence directly from Parking Eye (to which she replied) before the Equita letter in December 2015.

SaSuz have you kept the Parking Eye correspondence and your replies?

Deary me, what a kerfuffle. It could so easily have been sorted out, here's how.

Op receives parking ticket, writes politely to PPC putiing them straight. PPC reverts, OP goes to solicitor, solicitor takes it on, sorts it out, bills PPC for trouble.

This conduct is a violation of ParkingEye's KADOE contract with the DVLA. You should therefore (as well as everything else) refer the matter to the DVLA and BPA.

Parking companies must obey debt collection best practices, so once you have given a reasonable reason why the debt does not exist, (I've never driven. I've never owned a car) they must cease and properly investigate.

Also see this blog article which is about DCBL and not Equita, but contains lots of useful links

  • Parking companies can pass details to debt collectors who are not part of an ATA. The KADOE contract with the DVLA lists the fairly stringent conditions needed to do this.

One condition is that the debt collector obeys FCA rules on debt collection guidance. If the OP rang up equita who said they are close to sending the bailiffs round, then this would be a clear violation.

No-one wants to phone ParkingEye and be hassled into shelling out money to a notorious firm that provide NO service to the public whatsoever, but rips off innocent people every day of the week (hope you are proud).

    Reported as spam.
