Last two months I have signed up then not actually kept going. This month I have to stick to it as I changed jobs and I haven't been paid, it looks like it may be the end of March by the time I actually get paid!

I'm looking at a 5 week month. 29th of Feb till the 3rd of April.
Aiming for £100. Fully stocked freezer still and cupboards. I honestly need to get this down! This is for 2 adults and a 9 month old (who eats loads, don't be fooled by her age!). This doesn't include her milk as it is a separate budget:)

Making a meal plan tonight :)

I'm joining for March, as my addiction to YS food means my freezer is ridiculous! I need to focus on reducing it down and stop scouring the reduced section for meat and fish...of course, easier said than done ;)

So I'm set for £100 for March for all food and drink, excluding alcohol.
  • Hello all

I've been awol for a while since my internet at home isn't working - it still isn't fixed, and I hate my internet provider!!!

Can I be put down for £100 for March please? I'm off on holiday for ten days, so I'll hopefully manage on that.

My month started the yesterday and I've spent £35 already. My plan for the rest of the month is a biggish shop next week (to use a £8 of morries voucher). After that, I will only need a smallish top-up of milk, bread and veg.

    Good luck everyone!

Can I join please? :) £100 for March that's for an adult and a teen boy I usually spend way over £200 a month so this is really challenging myself :D
My plan is to get organised, use what's in my freezer, use Aldis super six, start tracking down those yellow sticker items everyone raves about abd meal plan. I'm considering starting and Instagram account posting the thrifty meals I make to keep me motivated.

So a spend of £23.37 yesterday, which included a treat for OH, who wasn't & isn't feeling well.

Worked out from going through our receipts for Jan/Feb that wine is our downfall...we like wine and even though we don't drink it everyday and can make a bottle last two days. However, just received an email from Sainsbobs nectar and double points are coming up on 30/3/16 - so we will get a few bottles then. That definitely will help the budget. Yay!!
  • Hi, I'd like to join please!

Usual budget is £200 for DH and I, and I'm going to put my target at £175 and see what I can achieve :D

Always meals plan, but will also be red sticker hunting, doing 2 of my weekly shops at Lidl, and coupling where possible.

Pay month starts 28th. Did my first shop in advance y'day as I knew I'd not get a chance today. First spend was £23.73 so I'm well on track.

Please can I join for the month. I'm new to this challenge and to be honest know we spend too much on food per month. We are a family of 4, me DH and 2 DD's 11 and 9, plus 2 cats.

I would like to start off with a budget of £550 I know this is high compared to others, but I think this is reasonable for us.

Thank you to all that help, contribute and support this thread, I look forward to the challenge and getting my bills down.
  • Third shop of the month done yesterday and I have £20.80p left over from February food budget purse to go into my holiday account :):):) very pleased with february's outcome

    Hi everyone,

Budgets list updated to here :)

    Welcome/welcome back to:
Shortypie, mancbird, MERFE, Effyb4, mumto2monkeys, Popstess, squeezedmillenial, and Becks81 :D

    Good luck to all.

DH was given notice of redundancy on Monday so we will be watching every penny this month. We've been there before, so are pretty astute when it comes to managing our pennies.
