Your bank will give you some hoops to jump through and you either jump through each one until your free or risk losing your account.
Maybe the sender is a scammer or sending from an account thats been marked for fraud?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Surely you just need to show them the gumtree ad and the text messages from the buyer confirming the sale. Can't see why you would need anything else unless either your account or the buyers has a fraud marker against it.0

The story starts to unfold!
Want to tell us all from the start what has actually happened without missing bits like this out? Its very difficult to advise when we dont have the full facts.0 -

Hopefully you sent the watch by Special delivery, in which case you will have proof of delivery (or if no POD, you will be able to claim for the loss from Royal Mail).
However, it's strange that the bank are getting involved as provided the transfer itself wasn't fraudulent or made to an incorrect account, they don't normally do anything afterwards.0 -
£300 . . . watch . . . Gumtree . . . blocked account . . . item not rec'd . . . bank transfer . .
hmmm  what could go wrong0 -
Someone sent a fake but convincing screenshot to the seller, seller sent watch on this fake evidence only to discover it's all a con. Happens all the time.
Anther scenario is the buyer pays the money in and sends the evidence to the seller, but then informs the bank that they didn't authorise the payment before it clears. The banks then hold the funds until resolved. To do it this way there is a very short timespan between sending the funds and complaining before it clears.
OP did you accept the evidence they sent or check with your actual bank that the money was in your account. Banks do not get involved with bank transfers under normal circumstances. Normal circumstances include Gumtree sales so any way you look at it you are the victim of a scam.0 -

This doesn't make any sense. The buyer would not be able to get your account blocked by complaining to your bank they hadn't received the goods.0 -
Why haven't you asked your bank those questions?Broken_Arrowes wrote: »They said i should print evidence the person sent the money but we communicated by text. How i meant tk print such off? Should i just take my phone to the branch?0 -

I sent next day [don't have any confirmation anymore, didn't know the bank gets involved with this sort of stuff]
My bank says they've blocked my account pending investigation of this transaction since buyer cokplained
Problem is, I don't have the receipt anyway when I sent the parcel?! I didn't even know the bank does these sort of stuff? The buyer has received it and is merely lying but if he was he would've used paypal?!0
