So i called my bank to ask and apparently a credit of £300 came into my account [I sold a watch on gumtree]. They blocked my account since they need proof the money was coming in beforehand?!? Is this !!!! legal? I was talking to the person on phone and he sent me a screenshot when he paid the money and my bank is asking i take in a printed copy into the branch with my ID?! Why are they having such possession over my account when it isnt fraud?!

Money laundering is the generic term used to describe the process by which criminals disguise the original ownership and control of the proceeds of criminal conduct by making such proceeds appear to have derived from a legitimate source.0

Take in what the bank has requested. If its all above board then you have nothing to worry about.0 -
