We had a similar issue in the Meadowhall shop in Sheffield, a family of eight got four trolleys and just cleared all of the shelfs with their arms into the trolleys and got 80% of the stock.

this year there is very little stock left online, compared to previous years.
Still lots instore though, especially your larger local stores.

If you can, go "case the joint" lol on Tuesday late afternoon next week, see whats there and whether any of it takes your fancy at 70% off. Then you can decide whether you're going to get up in time to hit the store for opening on Wednesday morning.

Our local store is a large one, we were in their this afternoon and there was very little left, rows of empty shelves and what was left was rubbish, so unless they unleash some more stock i can't see this years 75% sale being anything but a damp squid. Maybe the buyers got their sums right this time round?

My local doesn't have that much either. Do I get the boyfriend to take me into Milton Keynes on his way to work at 7am? :P
New to this money saving lark. Any tips greatly received.

  • Ooh my favourite thread of the year. I only wondered today when it would be. Following along.......
  • Oh decisions decisions! Online or in store and, if store, which one?! Last year I ordered a load of Jack Wills stuff on line then went down town to our local store. The most dire selection of stuff I have ever seen and only me, DD and another woman looking! I am thinking this year I will just try online and forget the store. Of course that might change as I hate to miss a bargain!!

Even more exciting now that Boots have kindly sent me a load of bonus points vouchers and even a 10% off voucher. I can't remember ever having such generous extras to combine with 70% off :D

There is an awful lot of stock thats OOS since the 50% sale so I am guessing that online maybe a washout this year :( On saying that, the other year when I ventured into store it was a nightmare ! People with suitcases and snatching things from peoples baskets and just clearing shelves with one swoop of there arms
