Where are the UK sellers!? (rant)

Looking for an adapter for an item, thinking it may help resolve some things after having major issues. Found one on Amazon, went to buy then remembered I hadn't checked where the seller is from.
Hong Kong/China were the only options for that item. Fine, found another. Same issue. Only one seller said dispatched from UK.
Checked ebay, same issue. Did find the same seller, states UK location, dispatched from UK. Thought great, I'll probably buy off them then. Just figured I'd have a quick check to see if any other items were available first, found one and there's that seller again...so seemed they were the only option. Checked their feedback page and they're in Hong Kong!
Had the same problem recently trying to find some cables and another electrical item.
Want the item asap and being electrical I'm not sure I trust buying a Chinese one. However, I can't find a single UK seller that sells what I want
I'm fed up of spending hours searching on Amazon (and ebay), trying to find what I want and then hours more trying to find a UK seller, only to be constantly misled by sellers appearing to be in the UK until you look into it more.
I know there's been quite a few Chinese sellers for a while now, but recently there only seems to be Chinese sellers for every item I've been looking for. Anyone else finding the same?

in amazon , I always check "prime" as a delivery method , and in ebay I try to click "deliver to argos" as a first step , this at least weeds out the foreign sellers or not stock held in the UK
not perfect , but helpsSave a Rachael

Yeah, I always use filters but I'm finding they're becoming more and more useless. Plus I also don't want to accidentally filter out any UK sellers.0 -
What's the adapter?
It never hurts to have a few other people looking as well.0 -

Sound card audio adapter. I need a very cheap one though.
Found one on ebay from a UK seller. Exact same one as the Chinese ones by the looks of it, but the same ones on Amazon have great reviews and technically it should be safe with being sold here.0 -
Try living in Northern Ireland.
I've now seen it more than a few times where people (UK based) have items marked as unavailable to people living here despite the fact that with Royal Mail the cost will be the same for their item.
I'm not talking about items that can't be sent for safety reasons such aerosols etc. but computer games, consoles where they state they will use Royal Mail. It's relatively inexpensive to post here compared to what they are charging to post to places in England, Scotland or Wales.0 -

Yeah, I know, some people just (sadly) fail to realise it is still in the UK and some couriers charge more for some stupid reason.
If it makes it any better, I never block Northern Ireland when I sell. Sure I've sent computer games there before too lol.0 -
This is the effect China is having on the UK etc & the reason why I will not use them, unless I have to.
The other sellers have abandoned those products due to the Chinese Imports undercutting them.0 -

Indeed.
I want to do something really really simple, but it's causing me so much hassle it's beyond ridiculous now. Spent so long trying to find the right few items, so long then trying to find them by UK sellers and then when I get the one major item needed it fails to work, replacement fails to work all the time. Back to the beginning, find another and that fails to work so try looking for alternative and it's back to the long searches again and finding a UK seller *sighs*
I don't know what the answer is to any of it though, hence the rant on here lol. Better filters for UK only on ebay and Amazon would be a very good start though!0 -
please post a link to the ones on amazon and ebay , if you want help
sounds the reason that UK suppliers have given up on this item is because the only ones available are substandard and don,t work , and they have to offer refunds , whilst the Chinese laugh at us , knowing we will not return the stuff due to costsSave a Rachael

I avoid Amazon and Ebay for these things as even if the seller is in the UK, often it is a front for a Chinese seller. The only time I will buy is if it is a genuine well known brand item (although again they are often fake). I normally stick to companies like cpc.co.uk They are often as cheap but the quality is far better.0
