Sounds like you've had a lovely weekend. Good idea about taking a break from overpaying until January, free up some money just in case.

    Have a great week xx
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • Afternoon, so cold and gloomy today. Glad I'm not DS he has a rugby match after school, good excuse for me not to clean the bathroom yet as I know he will be filthy when he gets in.

Have sat and had a look at finances and have worked out what needs paying and how much to the end of the year.
So wages will cover bills/fuel/food, Which leaves me to make -

    £150 - Christmas (basically by 24th December)
£130 - DD tutor (have until 6th Jan,but want it saved by end of year)
£90 - DD Pony Feet/worming etc (9th Jan for this but again want it saved.

So they are my goals for the end of the year.

    2018 GOALS.

Pay off N£XT, I was wanting this gone by the end of the year, but cancer set me back. Pay off Barc1ay card, hate them with a passion.

N£xt is £450 (give or take a few pounds as new statement due)
    Barc card £3156.

    Work/money making.

    Normal job (back in Jan).
    SE work
Paper work - paid in meat (usally beef/lamb.) helps keep grocery cost down and I can do this at home at weekend/school hols.
    Surveys/£bay.

    Health/wellbeing.
Take time for myself to read a book, go for a walk.
Save for a holiday, i'm not a fan of stuff, I don't like clutter or niknaks, I tend to buy what I need and that's it,but I do enjoy holiday and days out. I missed going to Edinburgh with DD because of the cancer and that really upset me so think this is where I need to focus my small 'spends' to.
Try and stick to £150 every 2 weeks for food, but I won't scrimp on health, so if I fancy chocolate and wine and it takes us over budget i'm not buying it, yet if we need fruit it will be bought.

So that's 2018 taken care of.
  • Good day so far for things to test this afternoon I've had 2 deliveries, 2 full sized bottles of both shampoo and conditioner and a pack of dishwasher tablets, these have saved me at least £15.

Also had a couple of sales on £bay added to what was already in paypal I have started my challenge and sig is updated.
  • Thanks for sharing your DS stocking list, its given me a few ideas for my boys.

    I'm glad it was helpful.x.
  • Evening.

Exhausted this evening I decided enough was enough and I sorted DD bedroom out, lots have been thrown away, few things to £bay and it is looking much better, but I have definitely done a bit to much and will need to take it easy tomorrow, DH wasn't happy when he got in and saw what id been doing, but I couldn't stand it any longer.

Withdrawn a £5 amaaz0n from swag bucks, couple of bits I want as presents so vouchers will help. small flurry of sales on £bay overnight which has boosted the saving goal.

Small spend today of £5 topping up DS school dinner account, easy tea as DD/DS/DH are all at various clubs so everyone has sorted themselves out , DD found some chicken goujons and chips in the freezer and cooked those for herself, Dh made himself cheese toasties and DS had pizza, So no cooking for me tonight:D.

Going to make a brew and catch up on surveys whilst the house is quiet.
  • Hope youve caught up with some rest today Pennywise xx

  • Once again our local city, towns and villages are flooded, luckily i'm on high ground but I was outside with DH last night making sure all our drains were cleared as the rain was coming down so fast the drains coundnt cope,so Dh was brushing water down the drive which is sloped from the back of the house. when I opened my curtains this morning all the surrounding fields are flooded. its 2 years since it flooded really bad and they said it was a once in a century thing, don't think so :(. DH is now out trying to rescue stranded sheep , just hope he stays safe.

Mother nature is such a scary thing!
