  • Morning.

Sad news this morning that MIL/FIL have had to have their old doggie put to sleep, everything had started to shut down and she had started with fits, kindest thing to do but still very sad. Kids are still asleep and I havn't told them yet they will both be upset especially DD.

Having a pottering at home day today, try and declutter some of my bedroom and also need to sort the fridge out and see what needs using up, going to bung sliced tomatoes, peppers, garlic, basil and red onions in slow cooker with chicken breatst, pop some cheese on the top half hour before serving and call it Italian chicken. Need to use up a celeriac as well, will do it mashed with garlic and parmesan cheese.
I did put some leftovers in the freezer last night that I thought would be ok for my lunches when I go back to work, also froze some veggie scraps as when I have enough I can make some stock for soup.

Finances checked and a TT of 87p made, nothing has sold overnight on 3bay. Have received a £5 amaz0n voucher from swagbucks.

Dh has brought home a load of pallets from work which are nicely burning on the stove, free wood and burns well can't complain.

    Todays to do list

    Throw tea into slow cooker.
    sort fridge.
    surveys.
    washing mountain.
    go through paper work.

Hope everyone is ok and keeping warm xx

Sorry to hear about the dog - I had the same with my 21 year old cat two years ago, he was fitting and it was time to let him go. Very sad though :(

Hope you feel better after some stronger painkillers and a relaxing bath xx

I hope you are all feeling better this evening. Your task list today was giving me a headache just thinking about it.
  • Morning.

Payday today and have TT account and sent £3.81 to savings, need to transfer some other bits of money but will do it later.

    Plans for today -

    Food shop.
    list 3 ebay items.
    bit more decluttering.
    ironing
go through months finance, transfer money etc.

    HI Penny,

I hope today is a better day for you and that you are just under the weather.

Good luck with your grocery challenge. You always seem so organised with your shopping though, particularly your meal planning. I have noticed that our shopping bill has gone up quite a bit recently. We used to spend about £60 a week, but now its always £80 and we struggle to get it down.
  • Well I almost managed to blow the grocery budget, lots of reduced items not on my list jumped into my trolley, on a positive both chest freezers are bursting and so is the fridge and cupboards.

    Weekly Grocery budget 29/12/17 - 4/1/18
    £100/£96.50
    Spends today £23.69 Abel and c0le, £45.59 Mr S and £27.22 in B00ths

A bit more decluttering has been done and a charity bag is filling up nicely, finances are also done.
  • Wow the furniture and holiday sound fab, glad you are treating yourselves. Hope you are feeling a bit better this afternoon x

Sorry to hear about poor doggy, hope the kids were OKish with the news.

Good luck with the food budget challenge, this is my aim too (again!) I love the veg boxes that we get from a local farm. The quality and shelf life is far beyond what we get a Mr T's!
