I stopped my Pill in the February ready for a change in change in contraceptive and when my period had not turned up as expected 3 weeks later, got a positive test. Doctors said I had conceived within the last few days of the pack that I finished in the February.

Before trying for our first child I had been on the pill for 6 years. I came off it in the March and was pregnant in the june,

Second time, I was off it three weeks and then boom!...pregnant!

good luck to you, as others have said just take it easy and don't get too fixated on falling

Enjoy the holiday first and then stop taking it.

I'd been on the pill years and was pregnant straight after I stopped taking it, it was that quick!

Unfortunately there are so many factors. I've been off it since April last year after 9 years and no pregnancy yet, plus very erratic periods.

I naively assumed it would be quick, just be prepared that it may not be.
Officially Mrs B as of March 2013
TTC since Apr 2015, baby B born March 2017

I fell pregnant on my second cycle after stopping the pill.

Be aware though that you may not ovulate straight away and periods may be erratic.

I fell pregnant on my second cycle but not the second month after stopping the pill as it took 64 days alone for my periods to start again.

Everyone is different and there really is no way of telling unfortunately.

    Hi

I am looking for a little advice... my husband and I want to start trying for a baby, we are going on holiday in about 8 weeks time and we were wondering when to come off the pill. I have been on it for 10 years... I am wondering how soon after coming off the pill did you get pregnant?

    Thanks

I was on the pill for 12 years and came off it to get pregnant, and fell pregnant within 6 weeks.
  • I conceived all my children within a week of stopping the pill- so basically every time I did the deed not "protected" it led to a bump! :o My doctor said I was super receptive and agreed to me being sterilised at only 26 years old.

Of course everyone is different, just as we all could have different pregnancies. Like others I would advise going on holiday first then trying when you are back.

    Hi all

I have been on some sort of contraception since I was 16, predominantly for period control.

I have been on Femodene now for approx 5 years and came off it on New Years Day to TTC.

Surprisingly within 2 days I had one of the symptoms of ovulation (stretchy DC). I am not assuming that I actually was but we DTD anyway.

I am now having my withdrawal bleed.

May test in two weeks to see if a pregnancy occurred during that time but otherwise I am expecting to have to wait until my natural cycle returns to have more of an idea if my body is back to normal (periods have returned immediately during every temporary break in contraception throughout my life even when I was on depo injection on/off for 10 years with no periods at all).

OP - I would come off as early as possible, I delayed due to wanting to have a drink over the Christmas period and so it depends what your reasoning behind it is.

For my first, I had been on the pill over 10 years, stopped taking it over the Xmas period, and got a positive test at the end of January.

For this pregnancy, I stopped taking it in June (after 2.5 years) and found out I was pregnant in August.

There really is no set rule, and you should be prepared for the fact it may not happen straight away. It comes down to your circumstances (do you want to be AF free on holiday? Do you want to drink on holiday?) as to when you stop taking it and start trying.

Good luck when you decide to go for it!
