How long after coming off the pill?

Hi
I am looking for a little advice... my husband and I want to start trying for a baby, we are going on holiday in about 8 weeks time and we were wondering when to come off the pill. I have been on it for 10 years... I am wondering how soon after coming off the pill did you get pregnant?
Thanks

If you want to try for a baby just stop taking it at the end of the month.
You could ovulate the next cycle...you may not.:footie:

I was on the pill for 18 years ... and fell pregnant within one month of stopping the daily pill-popping

Ooft that was so quick! I'm not sure whether to come off before my holiday or not... Some people have said do it now and see what happens and some people have said wait... not sure what to do.Never regret anything that made you smile

I would say do it now and see what happens.
If you're trying to get pregnant to increase your chances you really should stop drinking in any case so if that's what you're worried about missing out on when on holiday then I really wouldn't worry about it and just stop taking the pill.:footie:

You may already have considered this ... I always used the pill to control when my periods happened, running on from one pack to another if I wanted to skip due to a holiday, and they were generally very light. How does your holiday in 8 weeks fall, are you likely to be on, do you need the reassurance of a fixed cycle?chunkymonkey2144 wrote: »Ooft that was so quick! Enjoy your holiday - heaven knows, they'll be more stressful once you have childrenchunkymonkey2144 wrote: »See i didnt really want to have my period while on holiday and thats all i was worried about to be honest. No i havent started taking folic acid yet... should i start now?
There's no hurry in life, come off the pill once you are back.
Current NHS advice is to start Folic Acid before conception, and carry it through to about 12 weeks pregnant. And it cannot harm even if you don't fall pregnant straight away ... so maybe start that now
