How long after coming off the pill?

When we were TTC I came off the pill in about October after being on it around 9 years, thought it might take a while so had booked a holiday to New York in the April for my 30th. Got a positive test in the January so ended up being around 14 weeks by the time we travelled, thankfully I was past the worst of the first trimester but was still very stressful wondering if I'd be fit to travel, also didn't help that the Icelandic volcano ash stopped us travelling home so ended up having to spend an extra week there which added to my stress.

Would definitely recommend leaving it till after your hols to start trying just in case.

13 months first time and 7 second time. Could be anytime after you stop taking.

I know this is an old thread and I may not be posting in the right place but does anyone have any experience of coming off the contraceptive patch? My partner and I are ready to start a family and are thinking of actively making a start in a few months - if we start now and get pregnant straight away I may be giving birth down the aisle! I just wondered if anyone has any advise or stories to tell
