but for a forum where people come the ask for advice and help from fellow members the majority of you guys are quick too jump on that persons back and make fun of them, no matter how simple the problem is or how gullible that person has been they are here for help not too be bullied by internet bullies
You've asked for your rights and you've been given them together with a range of suggestions to mitigate your losses
The only thing you've not been given is a legal way or a loophole to get out of the agreement you've made which now appears to make the rest of us bad nasty bullies
If I were you I'd be on the phone or in store appealing to SCS's better nature rather than on here0 -
i forget exactly what i said but i never told him he was anything all i basicaly said was the system scs use is a fing joke but what does it mater he was no minimum wage call centre clerk he was another sales rep in the same store as i rang the store direct
It's more than likely an Administrator who works in the store and deals with the orders and the salary is:Salary: £13,942.50 pro rata plus bonus
They may have passed it onto the sales rep but initially it would of been them.
Quick tip for future, having worked in a sofa place there are somethings you should remember, we don't take shouting personally, I always said that I too would be annoyed if something went wrong over a massive amount of money. The people you speak to can see your frustration but ultimately the person that pays the bills is the person telling them to tell you you can't have what you want. Their alternative? Leave the job.
Also, sympathy is still a thing, most companies try the standard "No sorry" in the hope that you will accept it and make everyones life easier. If you shout and scream that position wont change. If you apologise and as you started to do, admit fault but ask what they can do as you could really use their help then they will be more inclined to move and seek further authorisation to help.but for a forum where people come the ask for advise and help from fellow members the majority of you guys are quick too jump on that persons back and make fun of them, no matter how simple the problem is or how gullible that person has been they are here for help not too be bullied by internet bullies
Whilst I agree with your sentiment you must see it from the other point of view, seasoned MSE'ers have been here through the whole barrel of nonsense that comes in "I just dropped milk on my toe and I think tesco are at fault, can I sue" e.t.c so when they see something as blatant as not reading a contract before signing it gets frustrating.
Imagine telling a bunch of people where you work the best route to beat traffic every day for 6 months, only for someone to come in the next day, late, complaining about traffic because they didn't go the route you suggested - it would be pretty annoying right?
Long and short of it is unholyangel is correct you can cancel. The store are concerned about 1 thing - the business. Ask if you can reduce the price of the goods and pay a "reselection fee" this may still work out cheaper than what you have at the moment as you clearly want a sofa.
Cancelling the finance is not the way to go, yes its unlikely they will chase you but they can. What if they pass it to a debt collection agency and the debt turns into £8k?0 -
thanks cono yeah i understand it might get annoying for some but too put them down about it and making fun of them is abit uncalled for, as for the guy on the phone i know he was a sales rep his name was ian i seen him paceing floor when i was in there he even spoke too the sales rep when i was with her he even knew who i was without taking my name but anyways that dont matter now but thanks for you advice0

Yes, you are right .
As for the comment about " seasoned mse ers" oh dear. Like as though that confers some kind of authority.0 -

I never stated it confers an authority, though as a matter of fact some seasoned MSE ers do get power to move and edit threads but thats neither here nor there.
I don't excuse people that do it, bad manners is bad manners - I don't think anyone came here calling the OP (though I haven't read each post in detail) and if they did then I'm sure anyone here would agree that is not the type of place this should be.
However on the same token responses from people in text are often misconstrued. Whereas I or yourself maybe more coy with telling people where they went wrong, some may see it worthwhile to be more explicit.
If anyone comes on here to cause offence then they need to be politely shown the ban hammer and all it's features I do not doubt that, however sometimes a stiff word is needed.
The OP admitted fault so pointing out the fault he already admitted to rather defeats the purpose of this thread, I agree but ultimately you are not paying for anything and the advice that's given is completely free and often invaluable that doesn't excuse those out to cause offence or those that have nothing valuable to contribute yet feel the need to post silly retorts anyway.
If you don't like the advice given, feel free to seek it elsewhere, if you feel particularly upset by a comment then report it to the moderators and explain your case to them. Little good comes from airing grievances publicly and stoking the fire, as we have seen.0 -
if i said i had £50 to spend would you take me too a £100 pair of jeans?
If i show you a £100 pair of jeans, you may very well like them and decide it is worth spending more than you originally intended (and more commission for me!). If you say no I then move to the £75 jeans and finally, if necessary, the £50 jeans.
Salespeople are also aware that many savvy customers will quote a maximum spend which can be anything from 10% to 50% of their true maximum price. If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0 -
OP have you been back to the store and appealed to their better nature.0

Fgs nobody was making fun of you, some including myself just find it incredulous that someone would go into a store and not check the price of something before they sign an agreement and only check after they leave the store, especially when your on a tight budget.0 -

I mean, I tried to stick up for you but geesh no one was making fun of anyone. If I'm completely honest with you, I can't believe a fully grown adult would sign anything without AT LEAST glancing at the figure-work.
I simply said that coming on here and pointing out the mistake you already admitted to served no purpose. Weather you think people were picking on you or not, surely even you can admit that not reading a contract before signing has got to be up there with one of the stupidest things one can do?0
