Sorry, didn't realise you had been present for the purchase and knew what OP had seen and/or signed.
One does not need to have been present at the time of the sale to know what the OP has seen and signed.

He told us exactly that in the opening post:

as i said i know it is my own fault i was gullible enough to sign a agreement without checking total prices.

What do you think he signed?

His posts have already said there's 48 payments and the sofa cost £4600 all on his piece of paper.

The OP has acknowledged that the relevant information was on the paperwork signed, and has twice acknowledged that he is the one at fault here. So unless you were there, it seems fair to go with what the OP has told us?

Yep OP did admit they were at fault - so why people keep needing to beat him over the head with that fact is beyond me.

Likewise, at no point does the OP tell us exactly what was discussed or exactly what he signed. He said the credit agreement was done on the computer and then they shook hands, signed and left.

However, I'll repeat what I've been saying from my first post. OP can cancel. He just might not be able to do it free of charge unless he can argue he's been missold. I have never at any point said OP was missold - just that it should not be for the consumer to constantly second guess the retailer when they have already made their needs/requirements known to the retailer.

And I find the whole "retailers are trying to make money, you need to check check and double check that they're not ripping you off/lying to you/trying to swindle you out of more money or else its completely your own fault" attitude quite bizarre, especially on a consumer rights board. But hey, how stupid of me for having expectations that people should be transparent, honest and trustworthy.

Could have signed a take away menu for all I know. Or he could have signed a credit agreement that doesn't detail the price of the goods, the repayment amounts & frequency and also the total amount repayable. Or could have signed an agreement for the sofa.

Not all credit or sales agreements are valid you know.

It must have had the price on as he said.

i did not go back in to see how much it cost i looked at the peice of paper i had giving the sales rep my price range and thought she had followed it so i did not ask or look at prices

But as you said I'm sure SCS are using sales and credit agreements that aren't worth the paper they're written on.

    Where did I say that?

Anyway, have a look at past scs threads and you'll see they'll quickly fold when challenged over the no cancellation policy with some carefully chosen words from the consumer.

And of course, they have never ever ever been investigated or fined by Trading Standards/OFT or the ASA because its completely up to the consumer to ensure they're not being taken for a ride and there is no such thing as unfair trading.

dude i never swore at him or called him any names i just told him how upset if was using a few unkind words

So if they weren't that bad then surely you can say what they were on here? It seems very odd you can't. That seems to suggest they would have been abusive. If they weren't then what did you say? (to some minimum wage worker on new years day).
