Hello everyone and Happy New Year!

Firstly ((((hugs)))) to Csarina. As others have said you are thought about often. Can't believe your ex didn't investigate or that he had a large amount of cash unhidden!

Took the decorations down today and have had a clean right through. As much as I love Christmas I get well and truly fed up with the stuff taking up room. I'm still a bit miffed as the bike DH bought me for Christmas is still in the hallway as there is no room in the garage - I am waiting for him to 'sort it out'. On a positive note we did take some non working things out of the loft ready to take to the Wee bin. I really don't know why he insists on putting them up there when they don't work anymore.

Dad is still in hospital. It is a bit of a drag trooping in every day to see him. He still isn't walking very far IMO. They are looking to transfer him to a care home for rehab, which should happen soon. At least he may be made to walk more than a few steps once a day.

Hope no one is suffering too much with the floods. I haven't had time to read the previous threads.

Have a good weekend all :)

Good grief csarina- misery being piled onto your grief. So sorry to read about the theft. Any chance your ex had insurance?

More good vibes going your way.

    Hi gals :j
Having an easy day today, am a bit sad, as have just heard that my late Dad's oldest friend has died :( He was such a lovely, genuine bloke :(
Talking about Mr Grumpys, I have my ex coming round for tea later.I've not seen him for over 2 months cos his moaning was really draining me.So glad that i'm on my own now :D
Am bunging a couple of hm frozen curries, n samosas etc in the oven, sitting back with a glass of prosecco, n hopefully chilling :D He is a good bloke unlike my last ex who was evil, but I am used to my own space nowadays:D
Anyway huggles to all those needing them, n enjoy your evenings xx :A

    Morning all,

Raining here and has been most of the night, the wm is on but will have to go on airer or TD today.

Can I join in with the moan about OH's? mine is driving me mad he wants to go out everyday and gets in a huff when I start doing jobs !! yesterday I cleaned the fridge out and a corner cupboard which smells very damp and mouldy, I asked him to have a look and see if he could find the cause, he moaned and huffed so much that I told him not to bother, my wrists hurt so much that I cant take the baseboards off the cupboards etc and I cant lift anything heavy at all, last night I had had enough so took myself off out for a few hours went for a long drive and sat up the seafront for a while. This (and more) has been going on for a long while and has made me question everything, its just not how I want to live my life :(

Sorry for the rant :o I have a lot of thinking to do !!

Might take the decs down today am fed up with them now, also dd has got a massive torn blister on the sole of her foot just under her toes, she wore the wrong shoes on NYE and is suffering, it goes right across the sole of her foot, might go to the chemist and see if I can get her something for it, she cant put any pressure on it atm, I was going to get her to soak it in salt water, but does anyone have any other ideas ??

    xx

I'm sorry you,re so upset at your OH, men can be so unthoughtful , it's in their genes , but it doesn't help when you are under par and suffering so much pain. Have you had the results from your blood tests , did it show anything ?
(((Hugs))) to you , take some time to look after yourself and put yourself first

In terms of dd, sometimes occluding the air to a blister helps with the pain and there are specific blister plasters you can get , not sure it would help with the pressure of walking , but often they are padded , HTH xx

csarina. Omg!! Whatever next , how awful and worrying xx

    candygirl I'm so sorry (((hugs)))

Csarina, i too find it hard to believe that your ex had that sort of money in the house, where did it come from? If it was out of the bank surely he ought to have waited to draw it out nearer the day of the funeral. Mother paid my Father and StepFathers funerals via cheque. There was no need to draw out cash.... Who pays that sort of money in cash these days?. A funeral can even be paid of the deceased bank account if need be.

Maybe i am just a bit too cynical for my own good.

I went out this afternoon instead of doing the household chores.... did a bit of shopping and bought a few flowers as the space where the Christmas tree was looks bare and uninspiring.

Dont think ive put on any weight over Christmas. In fact my undies seem a little on the loose side. I can live with that!:rotfl:

I think ive survived Christmas better than normal due to the fact ive shut myself away such a lot. Hubby only has 3 topics of conversation. Cars, work and immigrants. Shutting myself away spares me of having to listen to it over and over again.

    Have a good evening all.

Thanks Sistercas, OH went out earlier this afternoon and Ive not seen him since he has probably gone to his dads for a while.

I got the results back from my blood tests and they were all normal. no arthritis or anything, so have booked another appointment in a week or so, I have a huge lump coming up now so don't know what that is !!

Took dd to the pharmacy in Mr T and he had a look at her feet and said keep them uncovered as much as possible, she has just had a dettol foot bath and will keep them uncovered now, thanks for the help love xx

Decs are down and in the study I will have to try and get them in the loft tomorrow, I must admit its nice with them down.

Busy morning here, been up to the market for interfacing to fix OH's shirt with (he tore the cuff before Christmas, easier to unpick and stitch a new cuff than try to repair the tear that he made!), and "accidentally" came home with a couple of meters of black and white polka dot fabric - it was only £1.10 p/m, and I've got a top pattern I'm desperate to try out in something cheap before giving up any of my beautiful stashed fabric to it... Honest, I do sew with it all, even if it looks more like a collection! At least with his shirt done, it's one less thing lying around on my desk.
I do wish i could make my own clothes. I do wish i had the patience to learn or good enough eyesight at least. Numerous times ive looked at the clothes in my wardrobe and thought how lovely they would look, maybe in a different colour.

I remember my first set of maternity dresses. All made by my ex husband in a week because he was bored. All i had to do was choose the material. My first husband was clever with his hands and patient. My present husband is clever with his hands too but not at all patient.

Funny how things trigger your memories.

    Evening all,
Rare for me to post twice in a day but I saw some more good wishes and suggestions so thought I'd say thanks to TA,Redruby,Gers & anyone I've missed.:T
Unfortunately Gers the DW wasnt bought with a credit card but I hadnt thought about that thanks. One of the neighbours is staying in a hotel and was talking to others who have been affected in another part of the town, much worse than us,and he said there is a fund being got together so he's passed our details on.We are lucky as most of the kitchen stuff works and if I have to wash up in the sink for a few months I'm sure I'll cope, there are much worse things in life as we all know.
    Hugs (((Candygirl))) & (((Csarina)))
Had the leftover pork for tea,and mince pies and brandy sauce, yum.
Taken the big tree down today, will do the small one tomorrow-we usually leave the decs on it and put it away whole :D

  • Oh Csarina how much more is life going to throw at you? I can't believe your ex would be silly enough to keep such a big sum of money in the house.

There is so much turmoil and sadness on here for others too just now. (((HUGS))))) to all in need xx

    Evening all

Its been another miserable day here weather-wise, sky seems to be just above my head......still, with so many people flooded out of their homes I shouldnt grumble.

Another Grumpy Guts here, I just now do my own thing as he has become more anti-social as the years have gone on.....nmlc, you could relax on your own and e njoy meeting your family.

Dinner today was trout, mash, leeks and peppers in a sorrel sauce, really enjoyed it, had first taste of the pudding today.....its fine, but must have slipped when adding the brandy, very boozy but no doubt it will be eaten over time.

We have acquired a new pet.....a grey squirrel who is making attacks on the bird feeders...a beautiful little animal, but I wish that he were red!

Csarina.......what can I say? Love to you and everyone else suffering.
