Gers from yesterday - Because of the horrible weather we've all had I'm thinking of renaming the summer solstice a surrogate Christmas Day - in the back garden with a BBQ and friends not laden down with hats, coats, gloves and wellies. Maybe I will.

Were you IN Scotland over the summer? BBQ? We'd still have been in hats, coats and wellies!

Anyway, glad you had a belated Christmas with your DM. Glad you could get through. I have out-laws in Aboyne, Braemar and Ballater who are all rather damp and not going anywhere for a while. But thankfully all safe.

    Have a great day everyone.

Yes, I was here - perhaps not June then, though Easter was horrendous top. Perhaps, if this is anything to go by, September or October then. Definitely not December.

I've bee out to do mum's shopping and taken bags of rubbish to the recycling centre. Also had my car washed on the way back. Those poor lads washing cars in this cold and wind, I felt for their red chapped hands and left a tip for them. At last my alloys are clean again, I should give them a wipe every week as they get so black.

Mum is making a cake and I'm going to sit and read a wee while.

My thoughts are still with the bereaved and the bereft. RR - I really hope you get some help from the council, central government has allocated monies for your kind of situation. Fingers crossed. If your DS bought the dishwasher on a credit card it may be, big may be, covered on that. Some do it for 30, 60 or 90 days after purchase.

Mine also. I don't mention it all the time, but I am thinking of you all.

We took down our [STRIKE]tat[/STRIKE] decs yesterday; Mr LW stowed them away in the loft, and while he was at it, turfed out a bunch of extraneous cardboard boxes.:T
I wish to goodness I could get up into the loft, but there's just no way, so I have to rely on him to keep it "tidy".

I have to attend my PIP interrogation on Friday, so today we've done a recce to try and find where the place is I have to go; it seems there's no disabled parking close by, so we'll have to park a way away and Mr LW will trundle me down in the wheelchair. Just hope it doesn't rain!
I am terrified; I don't do well talking to other people at the best of times (I'm even scared to chat to the neighbours) but people in "authority" or who have some form of power over me scare me witless.:(

Jack Spaniel will be leaving this afternoon (reminds me, I must do his postcard in a bit) and Ted the Border Terrier will be arriving.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

hugs LW. Remember you will only be out of your comfort zone a few hours and Mr LW will be with you. I hope it goes well for you.

I dont have a Mr Grumpy at the moment. He hasnt ranted or raved since before Christmas (well apart from about my new Grandson in SA and sending Money over to them for Christmas) but even that was a short lived rant. Ive even got him to part with some of his hard earned money (pity its not gone into my bank account to pay off my overdraft though).

He's not said "No" and put his foot down either. I am assuming it will all change when he back to his usual routine on Monday.

  • Hey all. Big hugs to those that need - there seems to be a lot going on out there!

Busy morning here, been up to the market for interfacing to fix OH's shirt with (he tore the cuff before Christmas, easier to unpick and stitch a new cuff than try to repair the tear that he made!), and "accidentally" came home with a couple of meters of black and white polka dot fabric - it was only £1.10 p/m, and I've got a top pattern I'm desperate to try out in something cheap before giving up any of my beautiful stashed fabric to it... Honest, I do sew with it all, even if it looks more like a collection! At least with his shirt done, it's one less thing lying around on my desk.

Got an exciting afternoon of lesson planning ahead of me, getting ready for next week - I'm worse than the kids for leaving it all until the last moment, you'd think these 2 weeks off would be plenty of time to get stuff done... Ah well, what else are quiet Saturday afternoons for :) Hopefully I'll have time to cut pattern pieces later, if not, that'll be tomorrows job.

    Enjoy your Saturdays everyone

  • Afternoon all. Just wanted to post a quickie for Csarina. Judi is so right, just 'cos we aren't all mentioning your loss all the time, it doesn't mean we are not thinking of you. You are in my thoughts more than you will know. I think maybe because my own children (DD 43 and DS 41 this year) are so close in age to your Nick. I can't imagine how I would feel if I was in your shoes and you have my utmost admiration for coping as well as you sound to be doing - despite that young madam doing her best to upset you all.

Well we got the decs all boxed up and packed away in the loft this morning. It was like Karno's army, as usual, with me trying to lift the boxes part way up the loft ladder, for MR TA to grab whilst hanging out of the loft! It was a successful mission, we managed it without dropping any of them!

The weather hasn't improved as the day has gone on. Still miserable, gloomy and wet and now fog is setting in. Yuk!

ROSYRED I'm glad you have support at last. ((((HUGS))))) to everyone else in need. LW it's no use me saying try not to worry as I know you will, but I hope all goes well for you.

Enjoy the rest of the day folks xx

    Good Afternoon everyone.

Feeling it cold today. Took the four legged member out for a good walk, wee bit longer than he should have been but he was enjoying himself. Vet recommends no more than 5 minutes for every month he is up till he is 12months then he can be walked as often as we want.

DD out now to her friends so won't see her till tomorrow.

Dinner tonight is sausages, will have mashed potatoes and beans with them. Will need to do a small shop tomorrow as in need of bread and milk and some ham.

Need to check the freezer and make a meal plan up for the coming week.

Hope everyone has a good day xx

Hi Candlelight - so far so good! Still get the odd twinges and moments of discomfort (usually through the night) but certainly better than I was up to and over Xmas. This is the 3rd different anti-biotic in less than a month! So it's fingers crossed for now!! Thank you for asking x

  • I do hope the new GP has found one that seems to work for you.

I had it very occasionally when I was taking Tamoxifen after having breast surgery. but nothing as often as you do.

Fingers and toes crossed for you.

  • Well 2016 has not had the best of starts. I think my Ex needs his head looking at!!

Some low life broke into his house on NYE, he heard a noise but thought it was next door. Went down yesterday to find the patio doors wide open, christmas presents, a cheque and the cash for our sons funeral missing. What the hell was he doing with that sort of cash in the house, has he never heard of cheques. Even if he does not have a checking account you can get a cheque rather than carry a large amount of cash about with you. They also took his car key. He phoned to see about getting new locks, £400 the car is not worth that!!

I really wish he would move, he lives in a very bad area, drink, drugs and burglary are rife. He was left a life interest in the house by his partner when she died 10 years ago, if he does move, he will have to fund a new place to live. I suggested that he ask the council for help, but no.......aarrgghhhh.......
