I have one of those carpet sample squares in the front of my sink, .
I too get those carpet square samples and use as mats I have one by the door from the conservatory to the garden and one but the door from the kitchen to the conservatory. Also one in the front porch before I get to the inner door to my house There is a small independant carpet shop near me that sells off its sample squares for 25p so its great and cheap and to my eyes better than the chap binning them. :j:j
Making do with some left over soup for lunch and some crackers and cheese
Mending : a knitted blanket whose squares have come a bir unravelled
Minimising : something from the freezer for tonight's dinner0 -
Put all my patchwork squares together so that's minimised a bit more stash.
Hope all are well.
Got to do mils cleaning now so will take her glasses back that Dh mended. Then after work I will minimise my ironing pile.
Have a good afternoon all.SPC~12 ot 124

Afternoon everybody.
Made do: I used some up some bacon bits with some tired mushrooms and chopped red onion to make savoury pancakes. With a bit of sour cream on the side they were delish. OH wanted to know why we don't have them more often. so that's another dish to add to my meal planner.
No minimising or mending done yesterday or today.Books - the original virtual reality.

minimised the length of my hair by having 2inches off the bottom and the front styled. I usually trim it myself, but my sister treated me to a cut and blow dry at the salon.:D
To show my lovely hair style, . My friend is treating me to a curry this evening, and as its Ash Wednesday and I've been fasting all day, I'm making do with that! Such a hardship!:rotfl:
I'm mendind some jeans that need patching. I hate throwing anything that just needs a patch here and there!:)Living a frugal retirement without treading on the planet :T

I did a freezer raid for my tea, had pigs in blankets and stuffing leftover from Christmas with sweet potato and veg. Was lovely and there's still more portions of both to go. I shouldn't have bought so much at Christmas as OH doesn't like either but at least now I have yummy leftovers
I've had a nice relaxing evening - used up a face pack that I got for Christmas and did my nails. Still not done the mending or minimising paperwork but will do that tomorrow evening. Just away to do the ironing and then head for an early night.Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.9.25 - £106,033.77

JackieO, snap I too have them in my door ways and get them at 50p I have a flick through and take any colours which will match in with the house.
I only done knitting on the MMM front, I've got to take my thread and darn a welly sock of DGS tomorrow. Oh and our meals this week have all been based around my YS items and yummy they have been too.Why pay full price when you may get it YS0 -
I've spent this evening decorating my phone case! It was a cheap flexible rubber one from poundland and the picture had more or less worn off so was very very patchy. It didn't look good, so I took it off, grabbed my nailvarnish collection and painted the case. I used a not so nice colour as a base and did 2 coats of that, then 2 coats of the colour I wanted (black sequins in the stardust range by av0n) and finally a top coat. Now instead of a dirty grey and icky purple cheap looking rubber case which was difficult to hold at times, I have a sleek black sparkly finish which has just enough roughness to it that I can have a better grip on it.
I did the same to my spare case which I picked up from the clearance bit in A1di the other day for 99p
So I have made do by using my existing phone case, mended it by recovering it and minimised my nailvarnish collection by the equivalent of a full bottleCreeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
Morning all
Hope everyone is well.
I finished all the ironing yesterday and put it all away, while doing so I mended a trouser hem that had come down with iron on hem tape.
Knitted another little baby hat while watching a DVD last night but will need to sew it up tonight after work.SPC~12 ot 124

I am still feeling poorly with chest infection, so very little MMMing here.
Although the kids have made do for fancy dress outfits for a disco tonight, DS is wearing one of his onesies to be a bear, DD wants to be a cat, so have sewed some fluffy fabric into a tube and sewed that onto pair of black leggings to be a tail, plus cat ears from the halloween sales and a cat's face drawn on with black eye pencil (left over from years ago as I never wear it any more).
There always seems to be some kind of fancy dress event at school, and some people look as though they spend a fortune on bought costumes, but I'm all for a bit of creativity. DS does have lots of costumes (hand me downs or presents) as he loves dressing up, but even he loves to mix and match them with proper clothes to create new outfits. He once mixed his bear onesie with a bit of pirate's outfit to make a Puss In Boots outfit which looked awesome!0
