MMMing today consisted of saving a navy long sleeved top of mine.

I had managed to get grease down the front. Washed it a few times so washed the grease in. Thought about being in for a penny, in for a pound so rubbed it with washing up liquid and washed again. I can now wear it again, stain free :)
:T Washing-up liquid is great. I once spilled a helluva lot of cooking oil down the leg of a pair of light-green trackie pants which I use as lounge-wear. What a mess. And I'd caught up with the washing and didn't want to run the washer just to do these.

So I rubbed neat w.u.l into the oil stain and left it for nearly a week until I ran laundry again, and it all came out on a 40 c wash. Well pleased.

    Room for another one?

I posted a couple of times on the old thread and lurked avidly.

beautiful ravens – love the crockery idea.

Afm, this year I want to:
    1. Minimise me - I love the idea of eating simple food a couple of times a week.
    2. Make a patchwork quilt for our bedroom
    3. Make do with the cupboard full of cleaning products we have. I must not buy anything more until the backlog is gone!

Weekly shop done today, didn't get a single YS bargain - there was lots of YS food but all bread, pasta, cake, etc that I can't eat so disappointed with that. Never mind all stocked up again and hopefully will manage to get lots of NSDs during the week as I shouldn't need to buy anything else.

Many years ago I worked for domestic appliance manufactured & I could take my washing in FOC to help test their machines and their competitors.one of the lab guys told me that as W.U.L is a degreaser it generally will remove most greasy stains. I have used it on oil on a pair of white jeans & it worked a treat!

Funbrum - hope cold/flu is better soon - personal cure a small tumbler of red wine heated with clove and cinnamon. it knocks you out and you sleep anyway! :o

Plumduff - do hope they can mend your boiler - this is not the type of year for this to happen to you! :(

Got up early today as I couldnt sleep. Did a wash - got caught up on washing up. Preped the hall for painting. Rang DS1 for a chat (hes got a few money problems at the moment so am gonna make him do :money: budget. He thinks he knows where his money is going but.... Its why I couldn't sleep last nite! His GF needs to get her finger out and claim what she can as she is pregnant and so unable to work!) Then painted ceiling. Then it was time for my weekly walk with my friend. Then back here as he needed to borrow my computer so while he tried to get his hard drive to work I made 2 cards (a thank you and a birthday). Drove my friend home and then came home and got tea - tidied up a bit and here we are - nearly bed time!!! :p

I was thinking I hadnt MM&Med today but upon reflection:
    1) It was another NSD
2)Made do with food already in. Also made do with materials for cards I already had
3)Mend - does painting the ceiling count?? Also mended m addled mind with a soothing walk by a lake.
    4) hum - Minimising - 1 of the chocs from Christmas + giving some of the nibbly bisc (you know a bit like the jacobs mini ones) to my friend.

It would seem that the MM&M becomes an ingrained habit and I dont notice that Im even doing it :D
    Nite all
Aim for Sept 17: 20/30 days to be NSDs  NSDs July 23/31 (aim 22) :j
NSDs 2015:185/330 (allowing for hols etc)

You guys talking about NSD's make me laugh. I realise you mean 'no shopping days', but usually I read it as 'no smoking days'.

I think: 'F*ck me, she could save more money by not smoking at all', then I remember. :)

    Morning all
Today I'm definately getting the sewing machine out! I keep saying I have things I must mend and then something else fills my time and I don't get round to it.
Once Dh and the boys leave for school/work that will be my first task. So far I have pair school trousers, tshirt with split am and fiends stall awning. I mit even promise myself a square of my patchwork while its out if I get those finished.
    Will be a nsd today
Mil has an appt for an Mari scan so I'll take my knitting and hopefully get a baby hat or two pulled in.

    Have a good day all.

Yesterday was hit and miss. We did the weekly shop, but I meal planned first and then used my supermarket to split the list between Aldi and Asda.

Trouble is Aldi was packed so I grabbed veg rather than checking it was the cheapest option and it came out a couple of pounds more than I thought. I also bought (and accounted for) a Davina in 15 dvd which has been on my to buy list since it came out. It was only £3.99 whereas online the cheapest I can find it is £5.99. I also paid for it with my Christmas money from my parents :)

Went across to Asda, at least 2 items I wanted had sold out so I'll need to go back possibly today, maybe tomorrow. While we were there DD picked up a Harry Potter colouring book for £5 (it was £8 before Christmas, and is only a 1p more than online), I got my 1 magazine I buy monthly and a new cookbook (Lean in 15 by Joe Wicks, for £8. Cheaper then online when you include postage & has 10 extra recipes) also with my Christmas money which will help with the weight loss I hope to achieve this year. I never start a diet before 1st Feb as my birthday is in January and I like to enjoy it guilt free :rotfl:

When we got back I made 3 dozen mince pies using a large jar of mincemeat I found in the cupboard. However my muffin tin is loosing its non-stick layer after disastrous yorkshire puddings meant I had to soak it so I lined it with muffin cases and the mincepies just popped out and added bonus is it kept the tray clean so a quick wipe over with a cloth instead of scrubbing for clean up :j DD has taken one to school today and I'm sure it'll hold up better than when in the foil trays I used to buy (no longer buying those!). I foresee individual apple pies in my future made the same way just to get some extra fruit down DD ;)

I'm guessing that covers making do and minimising as I used stuff up we had in the house already. No mending as my fingers haven't forgiven me for Saturdays sewing fest yet (so my coat remains on the to-do list).

Not sure how I'll fair today, I'm off to town to run errands later. :o
Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.
Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!

Changed the fuse on the kettle, sadly it didn't work so I had to get another one from Wilko's ,but it was in the sale reduced by £2.00 so for a tenner I got a new bright red kettle which matches my bright red toaster, good result I think. :):):)
also a lot cheaper than John Lewis,if it last a year it will be well worth it
