FP - if you have a nice amount of fabric a sleeveless cowl necked black blouse would look good with some white jeans.
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle

I have minimized my to-watch list on tv, by spending all yesterday evening watching Elementary, the 5 shows where Moriarty is the main adversary. Very enjoyable, and also very much after midnight, so I'm paying today by not being able to concentrate.

  • Major making do, minimising and mending ahead in 2016. It took a while but I too have finally reached my lightbulb moment! Looking at my bank statements, pathetic lack of income etc and desperately trying to find someone to blame it on - the government, the weather, advertising in all it's forms. I finally came to the conclusion the blame lies with me and only me. Nobody held a gun to my head to make me press the 'buy' button, I did it all by myself. So having thrashed myself mentally for a while I'm now ready to make amends and improve my financial situation and work towards my dreams which are far more important than the items on my bank statement!

    So basically, I'm in! xxxxx

    Well, for today:

Make Do: I am running out of a few bits grocery wise but am now making lists and waiting until later in the week when I do the weekly shop.
Mend: Mended dd's sports top for school rather than buying a new one (as I would have done in the past :o )
Minimise: Have recycled a load of old paperwork that's no longer needed and added to the bags of stuff for the cs.

Well I started minimising this weekend....I cleared out the kitchen cupboards and completely decluttered them. Listed some of the bits we don't need on a local facebook selling page and made £15.
Also started clearing out our little girls bedroom which is overrun with toys and books and girly things!! Again listed some of the items that are too young for her on a local facebook page and have made £140 from it so far....
Tonights job is to start clearing the study cupboards out and if I'm feeling brave enough my craft room!!!

  • Hi all I have been following this thread for a few weeks now, and would love to join in with MMM. I have lurked in the background reading what everyone is doing and feel inspired and motivated to get going.
Not been on MSE forum for about 18 months for asst. reasons but still been working hard to get my debt down. Hopefully November 21st 2016 is my debt free day (everything worked out according to my pay dates lol).

I have started by doing an audit if all my cupboards and my freezer and desperately need to minimise both them and my shopping.

I have also repaired two pair of trousers that I can add to my work wardrobe where in the past I would have bought new :)

Hopefully I can join your merry band

Hi All, I hope you are all well today. Just started raining here again. I am thankful we are not flooded, but ground is very waterlogged.

Engineer coming Friday to look at ff, hopefully this one will also say it is not repairable so it can be replaced with the same model. I have to pay for the callout and hope it will be reimbursed. In the meantime the shop have given me a tabletop fridge to borrow until it is sorted. At least I don't have to go into the garden every time I want a cup iof tea now.

Didn't start the bedroom yesterday so started on the kitchen of doom instead. Oh lordy, a mammoth task lies ahead. Three bags of rubbish so far with a bag for cs. Lots more to sort. Wish me luck.
  • No spending today:) Inspired by Hugh Fearnley-ChoirStall's potato peeling soup have chopped up onion, and added red lentils, potatoes and their peelings together with various seasonings to milk and stock into the slow cooker. Made it a couple of weeks ago and it was yummy.

Mend - not so much mend as repurpose. I've been knitting a top that is proving impossible to keep to the stitch count - I put it away. Today I got it out, ripped out everything and I'm going to work on this pattern instead - I can do cables!! It's free at Ravelry

Ohh, that knitted top Looks lovely poppy.

I'm trying to minimise my craft stash by doing some patchwork squares today, tonight's tea will be mushroom stroganoff, using up some red wine and cream we have in.
