Just remembered I meant to fix my coat  The dog jumped up and caught the toggle part which keeps my hood up, now it's not attached to the coat just the hood. That should prove an interesting mend to achieve tomorrow.

Kettle has just gone pop ,so I am hoping by changing the fuse that might fix it otherwise it will mean a new kettle Grrr Still I will check at Wilkos first as when my coffee maker went wrong and couldn't be fixed I got a great on in Wilkos for 12 quid as opposed to about £40 odd from J/Lewis.
So I am off to find a screwdriver and change the fuse first.

Making do - DD had a coat which is very lovely but she doesn't wear it anymore. It is an 18, I am a 14. DD has now lost loads of weight. But when I put it on, it looks fine. It is probably just a bit roomier than the "fitted" style it's meant to be. So I am having it :D

Mend - I fixed our BT vision box. So now we are getting everything we pay for

minimise - planning to minimise the stash of lemons we seem to have acquired by making preserved lemons.
I wanna be in the room where it happens
  • Hi, I'm still making do on the heating front as engineer came on Thursday, partially repaired boiler and it lasted about half an hour after he left. He has now ordered another part that should arrive by Wednesday or Thursday. He phoned Baxi while in my house and I think even they don't know what the problem is. That's been 2 weeks now and I am getting really fed up with it. As you can imagine I'm going about like the Michelin man.

On the mending front I shortened a pair of trousers my Mum was given for Christmas.

I Minimised the hard drive of my dvd recorder - does that count?
I had lots of films saved on the hard drive so I saved the best films to DVDs that I can watch at a later date.

Im tending to sit by the gas fire in the sitting room so at least I'm getting lots of knitting done :)

Well I lit the candle last night and it smells lovely so that's the one which will be burning in the evenings this week. So thanks for the freebie.
We expecting our second grandchild at the end of July, DGS is going to be a big brother we tried explaining so hope he understand. He moved bedroom last week coming out of the nursery, he'll be almost 4 when the new addition arrives. I'll be getting the knitting needles out just a few new things, she kept all the things I knitted for Roo and with only 2 or 1 month between birth dates we should be alright. I've got some new cushion covers to make for his big boy bedroom. Then sew some ribbon as a border trim onto the nursery curtains to freshen it up its yellow, orange and green gingham ribbon at different widths. We got a new lamp shade one of those paper sphere type, I'm hoping to work my magic and turn it into an hot air ballon with a little basket.
Well that's it for today Gand, hope everyone has a lovely day, at long last the the sun has come out here in Yorkshire.
Why pay full price when you may get it YS ;)
  • Sounds lovely HOWMUCH what a lucky grandson and what a lucky new baby to have such an inventive Grandma!
  • Morning all
Going to meal plan for the rest of the week still on use up from the cupboards and freezer. We did did buy some food over the weekend, but mostly add to bits to help UU what we have in plus necessaries.
its dhs birthday today so got all the kids round for lunch. Which will UU a bit more.
A friend who had a market stall ripped his awning in the wind so I've told him if he brings it round tight I'll get it mended for when he needs it again on Thursday, plus I have some beanbags from school that split I've bought home to machine.
Used up two small balls of wool from my stash making prem baby hats need to get them sewn up.

    Have a good day all.

I wanted one of those scarves which is just a loop - longer than a snood so you can loop it round your head a few times. Normally I would just look on ebay and spend a few quid, but instead I got an old long scarf that I never really wore, and just sewed the ends together at the tassels to make a continuous scarf, and now I have what I wanted!
Saved myself a few pounds there!

MMMing today consisted of saving a navy long sleeved top of mine.

I had managed to get grease down the front. Washed it a few times so washed the grease in. Thought about being in for a penny, in for a pound so rubbed it with washing up liquid and washed again. I can now wear it again, stain free :)
