Well - new experiences all round here!!! As I am a wondering minstrel and my friend was going out for the day - I volunteered to feed myself!! Went to the co-op and got one of their meal deals for £3.25 - a real nice salad with plenty of protein and fresh veg + a chilled coffee + little pack of melon bits!!! Very yummy eaten by one of the picturesque lakes that are in Milton Keynes sitting in the shade of a willow tree. Lovely!!! Such treat!!! :j

Then treated both of us to some scones for tea (on offer for £1 !! (Yep, I know they would cost 50p to make!) Had a lovely walk with my other walking friend - the last one before I go on me travels - it was in a fabulous woodland which has been in existence since the 14th century.

Is this Making Do??? If so it doesnt feel like it TBH!! :D
    Mending - none
Minimise - some of my stash of crafting card etc by making my son's 30th Birthday card - in which I was able to include a picture of him and his brother and our lovely dog at the time. :rotfl:

savingpennies - that garage turn out was amazing!! Wow! Wish I had you around when I was trying to clear out prior to moving!!

    Nite all

Minimise - finished minimising the plants from the patio pots into the garden today and did four hours weeding

Make-do - Patio paving was looking very scruffy so DH borrowed power washer from work and the paving slabs have come up a treat. I am going to minimise my £100 gift card tomorrow to treat us to our own from B+Q. The gift card was a freebie from work, given as a reward for not taking any sick days for a year so the power washer will be free-to-me. I hope it will come in handy for cleaning our cars as well as we live in the country and the cars get very blathered up from muddy farm tracks.

Mend - failed on this today :) but tomorrow is another day

Morning mmmers, hope everyone is as well as can be.
Sounds like a perfect day Lyn.

Made a little wooden house for school yesterday so that minimised some of the wooden stash.
Send some of the little fiddly bits of knitting together just need to get the bodies sewn up and stuffed now (making hedgehogs)
Tea will be using up some cooked Cornish potatoes, I'll fry them off in butter and serve them with salad.

Busy all day today. Have a good one everybody.

What a lovely way to spend the day Lyn - refreshes the soul
Got my window boxes planted up yesterday with some geraniums. They always do well as the boxes are in full sun (when we get it) for most of the day. Got my watering system set up in the Greenhouse and cut down part of the rampant honeysuckle that had died off. What a mess it made as the small dead bits broke off everywhere - still, all cleaned up now.
Need to take puss to the vets today. Nothing serious, I think she's been stung under her chin & where she keeps scratching she's now got a raw patch about the size of a 5p - I've bathed it but I need to have a collar on her until it heals. That's gonna be fun!! Need to get the inside of the windows cleaned today too -not one of my favourite jobs but always satisfying when it's done.
Have a good day all x

Hi Silvasava - Hope your cat is ok, wasps are the unfortunate downside of hot sunny days. Just wanted to mention that vets now do inflatable collars as an alternative to the plastic cone collars - our cats coped with these quite a lot better than the cone collars and they look more comfortable for them to wear :)

A week off work this week so trying to get some big making do and mending jobs out the way. The bathroom is looking a bit sad as the plastic bath and shower base panels have turned from white to an unpleasant yellow so planning to refurb those with spray paint and the sealant has gone black in places and so it looks icky even when its clean so I will be removing and replacing to brighten it up

Afternoon all. Lyn and saving pennies - thank you for your understanding! It does feel endless and it's not terribly well paid but at the moment every little helps and it will help me to prepare my pupils a bit better next year so I'm focussing on the positives ! I was on a course today and got an early finish so I'm going to use the time to do a few more :)
Minimising - apart from exam papers I've taken some attic tat to a local jumble sale type thing.
Making do - left over paella from the freezer for tea.
    Mending - none.

Have a good rest of the day :)

I managed to save my tablet the other day after all.
Anyway,I found out what to do with helpful suggestions from youtube and a soldering iron.
Today I put in a new battery and now it is like new again.
Then because that was so successful, I opened OH's misbehaving tablet and that is now working too.

    Oh well done Culpepper!!!
Got the cats collar from the vet - it's huge! Have trimmed it down a bit but wouldn't you know it she disappeared all day lol. Havnt fitted it yet but an inflatable one sounds more promising Charlie's Aunt, thank you for that.
I didn't get the windows done but I did jet the patio off as it was so nice and sunny. It's now nice & clean & I spent the time in the sunshine ;)
Hope the staircase is OK Greenbee

    Hiya All

Despite being at my friends - I am still MM&M! Today we have MINIMISED - a load of stuff to the tip and charity shop (she couldn't lift the bags etc)
MADE DO - we ate from her freezer and bought nothing
MEND - I had some teak oil left over and so teak oiled her wooden garden bench for her!

Old habits it would seem die hard!! :j :rotfl: :A

Lynplatinum your the same age as me, and an inspiration! So upbeat considering your circumstances. Good for you still MMMing. I'm sure you will be sorted soon.:T

I'm back now from my hols and refreshed to get cracking on the next leg of my life's journey!:)
Today I've been minimising the pile of washing from my suitcase. I tried to keep on top of it as I was away for so long, but it's great to be able to use your own washing machine and clothes line! :D
I've been spending time on the patchwork quilt. Just a few more patches then will be ready to back it. That's the mending for today.
I'm making do with the salad and fruit I have in. My sister gave me some fruit as she was going away for the next few days and they may have turned. I made a huge bowl of mixed fruit salad for my friend and I. We are on a diet, so it was a welcome treat.:p

I'm loving reading all your posts....they give me no end of inspiration:D
