Grey day here and I think it will stay that way. I'll make some soup with the leftover stir fry veg and make a cake. Maybe I can encourage DH to hit the ironing basket and hoover the stairs down for me
Only bits and pieces done yesterday. I had my photo done for my driving licence &got that sent off. We had a smart meter fitted yesterday afternoon - not sure how we're going to cut down any more on our bills though
DGD has brought me another small alteration project - she's got a big chest so everything always needs taking in over her hips and waist.
    Have a good day all

  • I would like to hop on board please. I did try a few years ago, but wasnt very successful.

Due to me only being able to work supply (I need the option of not having to go to work due to chronic illness) money can be very tight on just dh's wage. So, in a bid to beable to keep the luxury of only working supply, I really need to try and get things back on track, saving during the "good" months, so we can easily survive the bad.

Ive started reading through this thread last night (currently on pg 12) and you lot are a true inspiration xx

I (or rather the builder) has minimised a door that connects to an upstairs bedroom and is not needed. This means some bookcases can go in the extra space created and it will work better as a study/ spare bedroom.

The person I bought the house from has come back from abroad and hopefully will remove all or at least some of the fish he left and demolish at least some of the fishpond so eventually DD and SIL can plant something pretty.

I simmered the chicken and carcass from yesterday's chicken salad and have a nice stock to use and some to freeze. The chicken will be taken off the bones and added to onion, mushrooms, chopped tomatoes and fancy beans to make a noodle or rice type dish and hope to have a couple of portions to freeze for DDs.

Not really mending unless you count the work the builders are doing on the house which badly needed it. I want it made safe and comfortable for me, DDs, SIL and maybe eventually grandchildren. Downsizing has meant I pay less council tax and bills in general and the money I gained will pay for the work needed.

Been in work all day so no MMMing done, plan to make a quorn and leek pie for tea as we have all the stuff in. Will minimise some more wool by knitting tonight if we watch to, if not I'll read a book I'm half way through.

Hope everyone is as well as can be.

Just watched the Sewing Bee on catch up - really enjoyed it but was saddened to see that the programme was dedicated to a previous contestant.

Finding that checking in on here is really keeping me focused. I did buy a few bits today so I could make some cream of vegetable soup which the kids love and some tomatoes for salads before the current super 6 ends. I did find myself looking 'beyond the list':o. I was, however, quickly brought back into line by having a word with myself, pointing out that nothing else was needed and hurried to the checkout:A
Minimise - it was bin day so I emptied all the waste bins in the house and got rid of a way past its best outdoor cushion that was so grotty you really didn't want to sit on it.
Make do - soup for lunch was made with last night's left over veg and also used some ys bread from the freezer. Tea was a seafood pasta using left over passatta from Saturday's pizza and bits from the fridge and freezer although I did use a dollop of the creme fraiche that I bought today to make another batch of soup.
Mending - pile of things to do still there :o
Original mortgage £112,000 . Final payment due August 2027.

    Morning mmmers
Got to get the sewing machine out this morning and make a little fabric house for school it's an experiment to see what materials last outside in the various weathers.
I have a little ironing and some shredding to do and two bras lost their wires in the wm last week so they are going, that will be my minimising
Not really sure what else will count today

    Have a good day all.

    Morning

mrs-moneypenny sounds like an interesting experiment.

pinknfluffy28 welcome to the thread :)

Seem to have lost the plot completely with regards to the food budget this month, I was already over budget halfway through the month :o so will be making do with what's in as much as possible although I do need washing up liquid, eggs and milk today.

I minimised an eyeshadow to the bin yesterday - realised that it was emphasising the dark circles :rotfl:.

I dug out my lighter jackets the other day and one of them needed a button sewed on so will mend that tonight.

Have a good day MMMers :D

Welcome pinknfluffy28, good to see another like-minded person joining the gang :)

Gradually doing one kitchen drawer at a time I have several that are crammed with odds and ends and really are mainly just clutter. You know the sort of thing You think 'Oh I 'll save that just in case ' and it sits in the drawer and never gets used.I seem to have accumulated in one drawer several plugs for charging things up ,now I just have to find what they are supposed to charge :) I think some are for some old phones perhaps I think once I have found what they are meant for I shall stick a label on them to say what they are for I'm sure one is for an electric screwdriver, now I only have to find it to 'marry' it up :):):) I am going to be stern with myself and bin stuff that really is clutter though, or at least find a proper home for it. :)

Still trying to minimise my freezer(not helped but buying some y/s chilli chicken breasts yesterday though :):):))

No mending to do at the moment ,but I have been catching up on my charity squares that I knit for the Linus Trust blankets so I suppose that counts a bit
    Onwards and upwards chums
