SugarbabyI agree that your bosses must think very highly of your work but it seems unfair that they reward you by giving you more, and harder, work:D Hope you thoroughly enjoy the show.
Maman, have a nice evening and enjoy the film.
I'm off to see a performance of Handel's Messiah later - we go every year and I find it so beautiful. I'm feeling a bit tired today after a busy few weeks but will dry my hair shortly and put a face on, as my Nan used to say:rotfl:
Smart black trousers and long black silky top for me, with a faux fur coat to keep out the chill :) Not sure about shoes/boots yet though!
Take care everyone, and stay warm!

    Hello lovely ladies......

Loving the outfits and the outings.......

Well an update on dad. He's been given two months. I knew he hadnt got long but even I was unprepared for that. I thought about 6 months. My sister is all over the place.

So......I cancelled the house viewings and have more or less cleared the diary, apart from a hair appt in a couple of weeks and my normal Physio appts. I also need to try and squeeze a chiropodist appt in.

Other than that I think it will be clear the decks .....

Today I went shopping and bought some Christmas food type goodies so at least I have got those in at the ready in case shopping becomes an issue.

I'll try and buy a few gifts over the next couple of days for the boys. I have already bought for all the ladies in the family. Although of course the boys won't mind if I don't get a chance, they are not babies now. They know the score. And of course they will take over "operation Christmas" if necessary. They are great guys.

I'm seeing dad's consultant and care manager next week to discuss "stuff", his affairs are in order, we took him to Belguim in the summer and I arranged for a priest to see him last week.

I don't think I can do much else for now.

I'm very tired and TBH somewhat dreading the next few weeks. Three deaths in 2.1/2 years is a bit much. :o

    Hey ho......

What doesnt kill us makes us stronger and all that.....

    I'll post when I can.

In the meantime......keep fabbing and enjoy the run up to Christmas.

LL big hugs from Blackpool honey. Some TLC is prescribed for you - you need to retain what resilience you have now.

LL Thinking of you and the family at this time.
A good life is when you assume nothing, do more, need less, smile often, dream big, laugh a lot, and realise how blessed you are.

LL I am sorry that you will have to take the lead on all the practicalities for the end of your Dad's life. The grieving process begins when you are told that a parent is coming to the end of their life.

My Dad died very suddenly and all alone because his death was not foreseen. With my Mum, we knew after she had a massive stroke and lost the ability to speak that she would die. I could tell how frightened and distressed my Mum was and I kept giving her 'permission' to go on her way as her children were all mature adults. We all got to say our goodbyes and I also encouraged the grandchildren and great grandchildren to come to the hospital and say their goodbyes. Myself and 2 of my sister's almost camped out at the hospital each day in my Mum's last weeks. The nursing staff were very accommodating and allowed us to visit for as many hours as we wanted to. They also allowed me to put all of the things like my Mum's personal bible in her room, so that she could have comfort from bible readings and from listening to her Gospel music CD's. My Mum had no appetite, so they tried to keep her nourished with a nasal tube straight to her stomach, but she found the nasal tube painful and would reach up with her weak working hand and yank it out. I was stunned and grief struck when the end finally came, but so relieved for my Mum that she was no longer trapped in her useless body and was now soaring free. She had gone to join all of the other angels, but she will never be forgotten and I feel sure that she watches over us all.

    Hello Ladies,

At work, I decided to look on the bright side and take what had happened as a compliment to my outstanding work ethic. :D My manager and the Managing Director are paying a visit on Monday and I am sure they are going to be impressed with the progress I have made in only 5 days to get my new floor clean. There is so much more to do, but by the 14th December when the College closes, the whole floor will be clean. ;) The silver lining is that I am working so hard that I am getting more toned and now have a realistic chance of losing 7 pounds in weight by Christmas Day. :T

I really have to get started on the mammoth task of getting all of the Christmas and Birthday presents I have bought wrapped and gift tagged. My eldest daughter and son have December birthdays. I have bought presents for my 4 children, my 4 grandchildren, my 4 sisters and other family members and my 2 best friends. Wayne is adamant that I should not spend any money on presents for him and I am happy to take him at his word. He is giving me money for Christmas as he is 'no good at buying presents'.

I have bought Christmas presents for the other 8 cleaners, the Premises Manager and his assistant. Well strictly speaking, they were all free gifts obtained throughout the year, so I only have to pop each one in a gift bag, so I am not being that generous or extravagant. :rotfl:

That's how I feel too LL.:)

Your dad has had a good innings and if he's cantankerous to the end then that'll be par for the course and good for him! You, on the other hand, have had most of the practicalities to deal with throughout your mother and husband's terminal illnesses. OK, so your sister has helped a little in recent months but you worry about her ability to cope so I'm sure you'll be supporting her too.

Sorry to be so blunt but I think you really need to take care of yourself too. I know you've tried to clear your diary (not 100% I'm pleased to hear) but do spend time in the next few weeks with your DSs and their partners or just pleasing yourself.:A
