No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries January 2016

Some TAs and UUs from the past couple of days:
TA
- double ended makeup brush. I washed all my brushes on Friday, and realised i really don't like this one (came in a cheap set) and didn't need it as I had much nicer ones the same size. So gone!
- Dior waterproof black eyeliner. Used to be a HG, but reeeeeaaaaaally old now, and has gone too hard to use. Have a Barry M one I'm using instead.
UUs
- Clinique sculptwear lift and contour serum, sample size. WBA. Lovely, one of the nicest serums I've used. And even the sample sizes last ages! Loads of other serums to get through first though...
- Ren Moroccan Rose body lotion, 50ml. WNBA. Actually quite nice, but nothing special. Sinks in well, nice smell, but not worth the price.
- Aldi AquaV Energise shower gel. WDBA. Cost less than £1, smells amazing, really wakes me up and energises me, and lasted aaaaages! I think 7 months or something silly - it lathers really well, just a small amount needed. It's a hanging bottle too, which I really like (I think someone else mentioned that too earlier this month). I've a few smaller shower gels to use first, but I'll have to get this again.0 -
I was thinking of the six products to use up by spring. (apparently the start of spring is deeply contentious- march 20th or 1st march or even Feb 1st)
so i have a small tester of rose hip oil to use up from trilogy.
half a tin of body butter
neostrata ultra smoothing lotion ( half opened tester)
total moisturiser benifit sachet
mane and tail sachet
dead sea sachet
long term goals nivea eye make up remover
boo boo bosom buddy- it works as a body lotion
quarter of micelluar water
eye brow pencil (about half left)
all the foundation testers
that no seven eye shadow0 -
One more UU - Caudalie Beauty Elixir
WNBA, it smells too much like Vick for me!Not buying unnecessary toiletries 2024 26/53 UU, 25 IN0 -
I have been at home quite a lot of this weekend so watching lots of beauty shows on *VC, I live quite a long way from any department stores or up market beauty outlets, so I enjoy seeing what is around in the market place:) I have ordered the NIOD Photography Fluid 30ml for delivery in February and will be ordering an eye cream with more oomph from B**ts today.
After seeing me at my mother's house recently her best friend who I have known for 40 years commented to her how ill she thought I looked, I was quite poorly after having a cough/cold virus for over a month, but my anaemia is making me look even more pale, so as well as trying to remedy the health situation I need to try and boost my eye area and wear more colour in my make up. Got a bit stuck in a rut with make up and need to allow more time when getting ready to go out I think.
VALM - I also think the lippy should have lasted longer, I have a stub of a L'Oreal one which is about 10 years old (it has been discontinued and I have never managed to match it anywhere - a lot of frogs have been purchased in the attempt:(:()The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. Aw maddiemay sorry to hear you have been so poorly.:kisses3: I've started using an UD purple eyeliner (Vice) and it really makes my eyes pop.
Thanks for comment re lippie I have emailed both Smashbox and Boots. I have complained to Smashbox previously and they were very good in that they replaced the item.
Another UU: John Freda Frizz Ease conditioner. Think I have found my HG. This worked really well even when used with a different branded shampoo. Sadly I discovered a huge bottle of Tresemme conditioner so will have to use that first before repurchasing.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

VALM, good luck getting the lipstick replaced.
maddiemay, sorry you've been ill. Sounds like a fun approach with the makeup, let us know how it goes! Oooh, and what the NIOD fluid is like, from the details online it sounds great.
I picked up the little L'Occitane set today, as I had to go past the shop anyway. It's nice, but not worth ordering other stuff just to get it, or going out of your way (the tin itself is my favourite part - very cute!). Useful little travel sized things for a ski weekend away I've got coming up though I guess - my skin gets really dry in the cold.
I was talked into one of the those hand salt scrubs with wash and lotion things in the shop next door too - all free or I wouldn't have bothered. The guy seemed a bit annoyed that I really didn't like it though, it left my hands feeling really greasy at the time, and now they feel drier than they did before!
Also popped into Lush just to enjoy the scentsDidn't buy anything, and no pressure from any assistants either thankfully.

Sounds very :money:. Thanks for the feedback on the L'Occitane gift. I remember when we visited the Lowry outlet there being someone sampling scrubs etc and that I experienced the same greasiness followed by immense stickiness in my case. The sales guy was really put out when I returned to his demo stand to wash my hands!Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. artypaws, welcome! And that's a great start.
I now get really excited when I use something up, it feels like a real achievement, even if that sounds a little sad - especially if I've had multiples of the same type of thing on the go.
I've also found my skin in general is much better as a result of doing this challenge, as it means I actually use more stuff in general - I'm less lazy about looking after my skin. And I can see the results! My little sister is a bit annoyed at me at the moment as everyone now thinks I'm the younger one, heehee0 -

The photography fluid and their copper amino isolate 1% serum are both on my wishlist for when I've worked through my stash. Heard so many good things about their products0 -
Three UU to report
* My last Lush Toner Tab. WNBA - I think the oils in it evaporated before I used it. I'm clearly choosing easier to apply toners over this one as I'd had it for over a year. Dissolved it in water and splashed my face with it for a few days but it wasn't as good as my Breath of Fresh Air toner from Lush.
*Gift size Clinique Rinse off Foaming Cleanser. WMBA - I do like this, it's a nice feeling while applying it but I don't know how deep cleaning it is.
* Hotel bubble bath - Ebony Honey and Mango - I was impressed with how many bubbles half a tiny bottle of this made. Would take from a hotel if I saw it again!!! (here's dreaming!)Grocery Challenge £114.22/ £1100
