Take it you mean Neg reply to feedback and Neg comment on buyers feedback - I'm right in the middle of drafting up the very same - can I get a copy?

Sellers can't leave any form of neg.

I haven't left this buyer feedback at all and will leave it like that, I will not leave them a positive.

I'm still trying to get the neg removed so won't follow up the feedback until I am happy to give up looking for removal. When I do I'm planning something like 'made no attempt to contact me- straight to a neg?

  • I was thinking along the lines - Beware No communication if buyer unhappy, see all previous feedback left to Buyersand my follow up - Unaware of any problem - no communication from Buyer, OR Buyer had 4 weeks to inform me, but choose not to.

Still drafting so will leave until I have calmed down a bit more.

I'm a bit late to this one, but if people are still having problems with the above link it is because of a bug in MSE's handling of long urls.

Long story short, when you look at the link when editing, as I am doing now, all is fine and dandy but once it is posted or previewed spaces are inserted at regular intervals (probably to do with the line wrap/break code) breaking the address.

If you want the link to work paste it into notepad and remove any spaces then copy again and paste into your browser (you cannot adjust the string in the browser as eBay redirects changing the address again) As far as I can see there is no workaround if you are posting a link other than to use a shorter URL but as MSE blocks Tiny URL that is not straightforward either.

    Hope this helps someone :-)

You can't leave a buyer a neg, best to leave nothing at all.

It's virtually impossible to get Ebay to remove negatives as they tend to fall back on the 'buyer's opinion' line of defence.

it's not worth worrying about, under the new defect rules from Feb 2016, a negative has no consequence, so it's not worth wasting your time with Ebay or agonizing over it.

I don't think buyers read feedback just as many buyers don't seem to read listings, and it doesn't seem to have any impact in the real world.

Just got my first neutral - no prior contact. Feedback states "Product ok for the price, but has come undone on the stitching". £8 item sold for £6.50 withe free postage and was brand new and sealed, so I had no idea there was a problem

The buyer (feedback of 6) has been contacted to say if you has contacted me to say you were unhappy I would have refunded or sent a replacement - she now has no chance of either.

I'm mostly a buyer (a few sales only, very occasionally) and I always read feedback. But the odd negative, particularly on someone who has a lot of positives, doesn't bother me. Even less so when the negative is clearly unfair, frivolous or mistaken (the classic "Great item!" comment with a neg.)

So I agree, not worth worrying about.

I would have agreed not worth worrying about, but since receiving the neutral I haven't had a single sale. Coincidence ??

As I feared the negative seems to have attracted issues. Since getting the neg I have had 2 positive feedbacks with blatant negative comments that I can prove are untrue- and with defects stars, plus now I have a neutral from someone who wanted a full refund without returning an item because they misread the listing. In that instance I offered postage costs to return and a full refund and they said they would keep item even though it wasn't what they thought it was (no, it was what I said it was- not what they wanted it to be). Been round and round with ebay, none of it can be removed apparently .

The effect of all this is that I am no longer prepared to go out of my way for my buyers. I often make a special journey to post something if someone asks nicely even if it isn't due to go the next day. I've even upgraded to 1st and given discounts where someone has bought 2 items and they can go in the same packet. As far as I'm concerned now ebay do not reward good sellers, they blatantly allow false and malicious feedback to be left as well as laughably poor feedback which I can prove is untrue. I will now do exactly what I say I will, no more free upgrades, no voluntary discounts for multiple purchase, just get as much money as I can out of it until I finally get bored and take up a different hobby.

Well said Soolin. EBay have so many glitches that are resulting in sellers defects and don't want to know when you raise any issues.

Like you I am coming to the conclusion that you can't win and excellent customer service can't stop the defects (especially the late delivery one)
