I'm going to join in too. I managed to declutter 2013 items in 2013 but three kids accumulating stuff and being a paper hoarder it is all pileing up again.
So starting as I mean to go on.
    1. Broken digger toy - bin
    2. Broken quadbike toy - bin
    3 & 4. Two shoe boxes - recycling
5-18. Used envelopes, leaflets, magazines - recycling
    19. Microwave - skipped.

Decluttered the food cupboards today, then cleaned and replaced. Not much went out but a few out of date items. At least i have made a start.
Hoping to do some clothes tomorrow.
    :j
  • I made a start in the bedroom and did my 3 drawers and the bedside cabinet.
    1. Bin bag of rubbish
    2. Rain pac a mac for CS
    3. Binoculars for CS (given to us by SIL's ex!)

It's lovely to open the drawers and only see the things I want and know where the things are!
Now Mrs FrugalinShropshire:T Proud to be mortgage and debt free:j
  • Another bin bag and a half got rid of today. I feel as though I'm getting nowhere, then open the lid of my full wheelie bins (one that is all recycleables and one just for rubbish) and realise that I've got quite a lot done after all :rotfl:

I downloaded the Ebay Turbolister app, so that I can list items as I come across them then upload the lot when I want auctions to start. I am a terrible one for planning to list things on a certain day then forgetting or getting sidetracked.

I also went to McDonalds and scrounged some of the boxes they get fries delivered in. They are a good size, not too big or small, but clean and strong, and of course FREE and in seemingly unlimited supply. So those of you planning on house moves this year, go make friends with the McDonalds staff!!!! I can hopefully get some free storage through a charity that I volunteer with, so my target this week is to have my crafting supplies boxed up ready to store. I have a lot as I used to run my own crafting business - hopefully after the house move my health and personal life will settle down enough that I can restart it, for now it will be useful just to get this stuff out of the way so I can focus on trimming down my personal possessions.

:T Huge well done to all those turning in tonight knowing they have less clutter than they did when they woke up this morning!!!

    Hi all,
Just realised I de-lurked, posted some advice and then disappeared without saying hello, such bad manners :o.

Anyway, I've been de-cluttering for years as we live on a boat, after moving out of a biggish house, although we never had much big stuff. However, it's the little stuff that seems to mount up and clogged you up.
My OH and me managed to chuck over 200 professional magazines and journals in the last couple of weeks. I have the new ones to read from the last 2 months and then I am down to about 10 with articles I want to keep for the short term.
Can't see any clear space though :(
Bit more space in my drawers though as clothes went to the CS and most proudly I used some of my stash of fabric to make a quilt for OH's new grand daughter and a phone cover for him.

So hello everyone and happy clutterfree year
    C x

I've decided I'm definitely up for this - 2016 is going to be the year when I finally sort various things out, and most of those things are related to clutter. My DH is going to join me too, which will be major moral support for me as I'm the messy one.

We got home from a New Year break this afternoon and just now, before going to bed, I've labelled a cardboard box 'charity shop', put it by the front door and put the first two things in it. So here's my list so far:

    1. Hideous bowl that I acquired and tried to sell on eBay but didn't sell - going to CS
    2. Vintage cup and saucer which migrated to our house after a church clear out - didn't sell on eBay, going to CS.

Clutterbug Rosie here - lurking for so long it never occurred to me that my old ID would even be live these days, but it is, so here I am :-)

I am having trouble with turbo lister after all that - today is not my day in terms of user IDs, possibly because I have been comprehensively off-grid for several years and suddenly trying to use accounts again rings lots of alarm bells. I have emailed Ebay but it is annoying, I had hoped to list a load ready to go live tomorrow but can't now. I will be running a furniture project tomorrow so I don't think I'll get the chance, though I'm not sure having listings end on a Sunday is as important now as it used to be?

Incidentally, if anyone has furniture to declutter, I do recommend seeing if you have a local upcycling project. Ours works mainly with those setting up home for the first time and those escaping domestic violence, and we help the recipients to make donated furniture look awesome and feel more like it's theirs. They get a few new skills and a bit of confidence as well. Ours appreciates donated paint, tools and craft supplies as well, and I think that most areas probably have something similar.

Going to join in with 2016 for 2016. Got off to a slow start but still a lot of kondoing to go.
    1. Baby car seat to tip (very old and damaged so not fit for recycling)
    2. Broken Christmas ornament (had already culled Christmas boxes before Christmas - everything packed away and in loft)
Planning a sorting, stay at home, no spending day today so should be more this evening.
