    Special meal on a special day or not, from what the OP described it sounded like something from Fawlty Towers, i would never have waited for 2 hours for a meal in a restaurant where the manager had walked out, the duty manager was in tears, children were running riot in the entrance and you had to clear your own table before you could sit down to eat ! At what stage would any normal person think that everything was going to be OK ? I bet there were other people there who were complaining too.

    I would still have gone home and made sarnies or beans on toast. It's Christmas Day, there'll be another one along in 12 months.
