Me too, Steph. I think mine were getting a bit bored of being at home and I think we all needed the structure of getting back to work/school/nursery.

Was so pleased to see you back posting. Let's hope this is your year to become debt free.

I agree with the others who think you already do so much and being at home for your kids is a priority at this time in their lives. You will never get it back again. I may have missed it, but did you ever post a soa to see if anyone can help you cut back in your budgets? I know you are careful and use ynab but sometimes a fresh pair of eyes can see things that you might not. I also think people would welcome someone coming to their home for reflexology and Indian head massage. Might be worth offering that as a service?

Also using cash for weekly things like food, petrol, children's expenses might also help you to stick to your budget.

You've got plenty of tips to be going on with. Here's hoping for a successful debt busting year. X

    Hi Steph,
    Hi !
I'm glad you're back! I was wondering how you were getting on.
I would say be careful about going to private houses for work as apart from the safety issue you could be sued. I guess the Spa will have insurance in place but it would be pricey I imagine to get insurance for yourself as se.

I'm the same as dfod, we have no help so the kids go to afterschool clubs (which they love) and when needed holiday club. We use our annual leave wisely and it generally ticks along nicely. Sick days are a massive pita but we share the load and fortunately it's not too often (I've said it now!)

    Your home sounds idyllic! Subscribing.

    Hi all

Only just gotten the chance to update, it's been a manic day. I have been piling up things that needed doing in our nearest large town (10 miles), so I decided to get it all done today.

I bought myself a cheap food processor/blender from Argos last September as i wanted to make soups but just before Christmas it packed up. I had typically lost the receipt and thrown the box in the bin :o. I took the plunge and took it all back to Argos with my Bank statement showing my purchase and they exchanged it without blinking - Fantastic :j. Also had to take a couple of my sons Xbox games back to CEX for a refund, a cardigan bought for Dd in the sale that did'nt fit and i needed some brake pads for the car and a small shop in Lidl.

Phew.... It pretty much took me ALL day....but it felt good to get all the errands dealt with as I was worried about leaving it too long and then not being able to get the refunds.

Nice to have a blender again so I bought two Butternut Squashes from Lidl to make some soup :D..

Will do a proper update tomorrow morning when I don't have little people stood behind me asking me every five seconds what I am doing :o;)

    xxx
