HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE :T
Well we stayed up with the children to see in New Year. Wow the fireworks in London are amazing, I would love to go and see them one year.
I managed to get all the children asleep by 1am  and finally went to bed myself. Trouble was I think I was so over-tired with a head full of issues and ideas that it was about 3.30am by the time my head finally switched off and let me fall asleep.
My head was racing with our finances and ideas on money making schemes and careers...Eugh i'm tired of it.
I'm going to have a look at some challenges today and also make a list of money savings plans like not using the tumble drier anymore, batch cooking, repairing and mending clothes etc.
We also seem to have collected together a load of small direct debits like Spotify, Netflix etc which I question if we REALLY need and can cancel off.
Lots of plans in my head which probably explains why I can't sleepHope you all have a lovely New Years Day. xxx

Hi Steph.... just read your new diary thread ... good luck with all your debt busting and money making ideas. For a short term result in terms of making money have you got anything you can sell on gumtree/facebook pages or ebay? Any bundles Of kids clothes etc? Might be worth a try if you haven't already.
Whenever i am feeling the pinch (which is often being a single parent) a trip around the house/garage can result in a few things that i can sell.
Anyway just a thought xx0 -

Hi Sellurgranny
Thanks for stopping by and Happy New Year.
Doing an Ebay purge is a good idea, I have already sold anything of major value but I forget that the little things can all add up to a decent amount. So I will start gathering together a pile of items worth Ebaying.
Have a great day xxx0 -

I am going through to purge right now, I feel kinda guilty though as I thrown some unwanted bodyshoop stuff on there that I got from my MIL and the bidding is already over what you can buy it for in the shop I actually feel awkward about it!
I am resolved to eBay / Gumtree / Faceboook at least 5 things a week this year, I have a 2 bed house to declutter and all sales are going to sit in my Paypal to pay for my half of my wedding. I am scared what the OH has in the loft, he is a hoarder, but money In the bank is better than gathering dust.

Re the work situation, lots of people are in that position (me included), but we just find a way to make it work. I'm lucky that I work term time, but if I didn't, we would pay for afterschool clubs / childminders and use holiday clubs as I just can't afford not to work. We have no family, so when they are poorly, we just have to take the hit with work. Employers have to give you time off if your dependants are ill, some pay, some don't, but don't let that stop you seeking work. It's a juggling act and it's a nightmare at times.. but lots of us have no choice, and if I want to pay the mortgage, then that's what I do!DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)
