  • Coming back out of lurkdom.

If you live in suburbia (pet shops boys song there?!?) - some of the major supermarkets also have an electrical recycling drop off point too...takes most small electricals and kettles. The one near me also takes old light bulbs and batteries too.

    Back to lurkdom & RL...

Hope that everyone has a good day today...be careful with the frost.

I have to ask a question thats burning at me! With those triangular pillows .... they look like they don't support your back at all? My dad had one when he was bed-bound, and my mum threw it out, he disliked it so much. What are we doing wrong? Its obviously really popular, there's a trick thats passed by my whole family :o

I had a triangular pillow when I was B feeding my DD 1 and I too found it useless so didn't bother with it with DD2. I borrowed one from a friend a few years ago when I was recuperating from surgery and found I had to put a pillow across the base of the triangle otherwise it 'got away' from me..............maybe they are best in an arm chair as that is how my friend used it??

So far only kondoed 2 pieces of work work paperwork but that is not bad going this morning as I have also had a trip into The Town. Have been given 2 admin days to work at home and am determined to get most of it done in one so I can have an extra day kondoing:j I am itching to get going and it is so tempting to make a start but then I know I will feel guilty if I dont get the work paperwork done......no deadline but I dont want it hanging over me during my week off deep cleaning and kondoing next week:D

:( Grrr, another day with no shopping achieved after work as was exhausted despite having 9 hours' sleep and been driven b*ts**t crazy by a succession of IT faults. Am in no fit temper to be engaging with the wunnerful world of capitalism today, particularly as I will have to go into department stores.

I will now take myself off for a rest as am almost on the verge of having a screaming fit from sheer frustration and no fit company for you lovely peeps. :p:o

  • Sorry you've had a bad day, GQ.

Re the V-shaped pillow - I have the ordinary pillow on the bed for sleeping, the V-shaped one just props up against the headboard and supports your back and neck - can't explain it any other way, it works for me and I can't read in bed without it now. Ordinary pillows move about and don't support you enough, I find.

    :o Thanks, PWD.

I've eaten properly, stabilised my wacky metabolism and am feeling almost human again. Plus have had a laugh with a couple of pals on the jellybone, which is always good.

Hi just butting in as I wanted to ask what does NCT stand for please?

Also, if this makes sense, do you use a v shaped pillow like a v or a ^? I've never had one before!

    Thanks.

    Thanks.

I can answer your first question:

    NCT = National Childbirth Trust

Don't know anything about v shaped pillows I'm afraid as I don't have one - but I'm sure someone else will be able to answer! :)

  • NCT is the National Childbirth Trust. They are a charity supporting parents.

I think the pillow is used like this - upside down v, but I can't find one!

:) Pillow is used as an upside down V. Mum actually made hers, cotton casing and the stuffing from some other pillows, with a removable cotton cover made from an old sheet. You prop them up against a headboard or in an armchair, and they cradle you, giving support to your upper arms and this is helpful if reading or doing handcrafts. HTH.
