    Hello All :D
Yes I believe what I am saying 1.5hrs I would be packed up and gone :) I go though it in my head and I hope in the next year or so I will be able to time it and let you all know if I am right :D As I am defo looking to move ;) But will only do it when the time is right.

Yes I am STILL finding clothes to go  Which is so shocking for me as I thought these things left were joyful :D But think its really that I know I dont need as many as I have left.Loads still never get worn as I dont go anywhere to wear them :rotfl:So I am just going to make sure I am not adding to them by buying anything else and see where I go from here.

The binbag of clothes went yesterday so we will see if I start another bag :D I wouldnt be surprised if I do ;)

I am at the point now where I know I need very little and I want very little now as well.

But I also know you never ever finish this process ever. Its like you have to keep moving forwards somehow.

My whole life has changed and I really dont want or need anything extra to what I have got now.
When I move my car will go as I dont want it anymore but I need it where I live now sadly :(

Edited to say I have also lost 10lbs since the New Year as I feel the same about food as well :-) So all good me thinks x

Debt free and Mortgage free thank you to all for your encouragement and advice

Sorry to hear about the various diagnoses - I'm very aware that we don't know the hour or day but we're all headed for the same destination, so we should enjoy the journey and travel light - and that means less emotional baggage as well as possessions.

On which topic ... Help please, Konverts. I'm revisiting CDs. I have about 140-odd, low by some standards I know. They're in a rack in a dark corner and I very rarely play them, partly because I can't get to them easily.

VJsmum posted about putting them in wallets, which sounds a great idea. I bought some inferior ones on EBay (false economy but never mind that now). I started putting CDs in but I'm really struggling with what to do with the sleeve notes. Some CDs list the tracks, and some it doesn't matter e.g. album by a specific artist, I know what's on it. But a lot of them are compilations and without the sleeve I won't know what's where.

Needless to say I've also thrown out a few more that really don't spark joy, but what to do - am I hanging on to the covers because that's how they sell them and I don't really need them; should I file the sleeve notes separately (how?). Is there a better way to store them? This is really bugging me, I want to get rid of the rack and I'd also like to play my music more often.

Polly, all our CDs are on iTunes. We both have iPods with all the music on (8-9,000 tracks!) and various playlists. You can sort & view by album, artist, track name, genre etc.

'' A good life is when you assume nothing, do more, need less, smile often, dream big, laugh a lot, and realise how blessed you are.''

Loving this ^^^ 3for holidays! Did you make it up yourself, or is it a quote from something?

I'd spent some time looking for an appropriate signature on the internet and stumbled across this one that kind of equals my views on life. :)

Hi all! I've been really enjoying this thread and hearing all your progress. I received my copy of the book yesterday so I can't wait to get reading and get stuck in to some hard labour!

A bit about me, I live on my own in a 3 bedroom house and as is always the way, clutter gets spread across all rooms. Now I have had some pretty decent clear outs over the years but have now reached that point where I need a final push and I'm hoping kondoing will help me. I tend to tidy room by room and end up getting to the point where I have stuff I don't know what to do with so just put it back where it came from. I also have clothes that I didn't get rid of last time but still haven't worn so they need to go.

I find the clutter drags me down and in fact I had visitors over Christmas, one for a couple of weeks in the big spare room which was fine but then another for a couple of nights who used the box room. Of course the box room is the general dumping ground so I ended up having all manner of cr*p in my bedroom, I nearly had a meltdown over it all! I now want to make sure I don't get into this predicament again even though I don't foresee multiple visitors for a while. Just knowing it's all there is wearing :o

Anyways, I will keep dipping in to hear success stories and hope to be able to contribute some of my own in the near future.

Well I've been and cleared all the plastic envelopes off my OHs study floor. Whilst there I dragged out some of my books from the cupboard aiming to sell them on webuybooks (low/no offers haven't reached £5, think they may go to the charity shop) and I found some of my old bank statements...... from 1995 to 2004....... OMG the shredder's copped for a lot again! Amazing how times have changed, so many cheques written then!

I've also made a proper start KMg my clothes. Started with coats, only got rid of one but I do struggle to find coats I like so got rid of a 10 year old one and a couple of scarves. Found a couple of baseball caps for OH so binned his hideous 'decorating' cap and replaced it with a found one. The cupboard under the stairs is looking a little tidier.

  • LadyBee, you could be talking about my house pre-Kondo! I recall the last time I had to haul assorted junk and carp into my bedroom to make the other rooms decent for visitors. I swore then that I'd never do it again.

Now despite finishing the Kondo process I'm still fairly untidy, but when visitors come I can have the spare rooms ready in minutes, and that is even though I work from home and so one room doubles as my office. It's so much less stressful, the beds are always clear, bedding is neatly parcelled in matching sets and there just isn't anything to move out that doesn't belong there. It's been a revelation to me - stick with the process and you'll get there.

The woo strikes again! On return from hols I discovered 2 things -
    1) the zip on my suitcase has broken. Can't blame baggage handlers cos I think it was OK when I unpacked but mysteriously it is not OK now DH has re-loaded it with spare bedding...... (we have a tiny house and very little storage so the suitcase is dual-purpose!).
    2) my 3 month old floor lamp that I mentioned brought me great joy last year has stopped working and unbelievably has a non-replacable LED bulb (yes, I know, I can't believe I bought such a thing :( ) The recent reviews indicate this is a very common problem with this lamp so I do ot want a replacement!

Have pondered the lamp issue all day and sat in vicinity to see what is lacking now and I have concluded that I can manage without lamp! Soooo, I shall seek refund from well known department store and put it towards a new suitcase. Bingo :T

and of course, there will be a net outflow of one item as soon as I send the broken suitcase packing ( do you see what I did there?)

    M
I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.
