:) I've seen several images of MK alongside westerners and she seems - exquisite though she is - about the size of an eight-year old western girl. It would take a substantial cupboard to accomodate my nearly six feet and hefty (but diminishing!) weight.:rotfl:

Was in bed by 9.30 pm last night and managed to sleep for most of the night, not sure how well I feel yet, too early to tell until the first gallon of tea has been sunk.

:o I am in the peculiar position of owning three boom-box type stereos, none of which work properly.

1st - Kid Bruv's, bought to the city a couple of months ago to offer on freegle. Only wannabee taker was a no-show. Partially working (radio) but no CD player.

2nd - my own, bought May 1999, almost completely defunct and was swopped out for ......

3rd - Was my late Nan's, inherited last October, intended to replace the 2nd, brought into service reecntly and has some interesting features such as playing CDs and tapes at random speeds (mickey mouse to slooooow).

Have decided that I shall draw a line under all of these and shell out for a new one at some point in the next week or so, when I've recovered from my cold enough to make shopping enjoyable.

Then all 3 of them can go to the appliance section at the tip - one at a time in my bicycle basket, I reckon.
Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

I am trying to cope with a cricked sore neck, done a week ago when I decided to try higher pillows, so there is an underlying discomfort in me. It is getting better but very slowly, stretches etc. I am so glad I did not kondo my memory foam pillow, tempur the large one, it has been a godsend to my sore neck. I read that sleeping on the sore side with the head in the cradling scoop is the right thing to do and it certainly helps. It all takes time, like when my shoulder was agony after lifting a heavy box down, that took months but eventually went

Anyway I don`t feel bright and breezy this morning, slightly stuffy nose all signs that I eat well, have several hot drinks and do nothing much today

I did have a vivid dream before waking, that my handbag was stolen, together with my cards. I was away from home, did not know the bank telephone number or card numbers to report it. How on earth can you keep these numbers on you without them being in your bag or leaving them in the car, which is not a good thing to do?

I am going to gently kondo a few things from my fridge and food stores today but nothing else

Glad to hear the tooth can be saved GQ.

Shortie have you thought about crocheting those little hats that Innocent Smoothies use each year to raise money for charity by putting on their bottles? Many small projects could shift some of your stash.

Roofer coming this morning to take a look in our loft to see if we can work out why we're getting woodlice up there - the paper I shredded a couple of weeks back was distinctly damp and the lever arch files had gone rusty on the metal bits. Hopefully roofer can come up with a solution for some more ventilation and that it's not too expensive to cure.

Man coming this morning to collect my old cooker for scrap. That will mean the whole job will have been completed in 24 hours! Nice large bag of cooking stuff in the boot for DS1 to take his pick and anything he doesn't need will be dropped off at the CS on my way home!.

oops, DD's bed collapsed in the night :rotfl:

She is coming home from uni in a couple of months, bringing a bed with her (and a ton and a half of other stuff :() so we are reluctant to buy new. I think we will scrap the frame and she will have to make do with a mattress on the floor for the times she is home. Trouble is, there is a load of stuff under the bed, that i now have to find room for....

DD2 graduates this year and she is just going to abandon most of the stuff in her house. The bedding was from Primark so doesn't owe her anything and I knew she was never going to do much cooking so didn't give her a very extensive batterie de cuisine. She did nick some good towels to take back with her last time so I want to make sure those come home!
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!
  • I was surprised to see a lot about the daily fail's sexist front page all over my social media today. I kondo'ed populist "news" a while ago and currently use the BBC and buzfeed to keep up to date.
I have to say my life is much better without the so called news sites, which always carried inane celeb set up stories, terrible news of kids or animals in distress, and apparently rubbish sexist articles on leading politician's legs. I sort of forgot that I made this conscious decision but today has reminded me of what a good decision it was!

I went to the library last week, and found Spark Joy on the shelves! No waiting list, brand new! I'm slowly reading it and enjoying the stories about her clients. I'm reading it slowly, because it spurs me on as I'm reading it; if I read quickly and finish, I will miss the 'spurs', and stop clearing.
