I have been at my daughter's house today and helped her sort some my granddaughter's things out which she didn't take when she left home. So we now have a box of shoes and slippers, a box of bags and umbrellas, another box with dolly clothes! one with assorted paperwork and finally one with 2 blankets and 5 hot water bottles. I hope that DGD will not just take boxes when she collects them (eventually) but gets rid of some of the stuff before it leaves the house because she is very sentimental about everything she owns and I think she needs to be a more realistic.

This is only the beginning of the sorting - there is a lot left.

I brought home 3 bags of tablets to sort out, most are out of date. Also into my house came items which will help me create her father's side of the family tree.

My daughter does not want to do KM, but at least I got her to empty all the bags and boxes before she started to sort which things were going in which box. As I said, we didn't know how much of each item we were going to find. We also got a bag of rubbish, another of re-cycling and loads of carrier bags.

:) I've felt better, Karmakat, but I doubt they'll remove the tooth this afternoon for the simple reason of my extremely complicated medical history requiring some pre-preparations in terms of cover.

It's a molar, one of the sevens. The only other teeth I've had out are my wisdoms, one at a time in the dentist over the space of a few years. The last one involved a meeting a couple of weeks' beforehand with the anaethtist who was going to be sedating me for 10 mins, to discuss drug protocols. Which was 10 x normal dose, plus he put some extra in on the line.

It's high stakes with me; get it wrong and the consequences will be a coma which is difficult to bring a patient back from. Which is why I regard today's emergency appointment as more a fact-finding mission ahead of what is almost certain to be an extraction. Hopefully, that can be in another week when I've shifted this cold.

I intend to treat myself very gently, with hot baths and early nights, until the cold takes its leave.;)

Had a chinwag with SuperGran when I came in last night, all hell has broken loose all over the weekend in our block but an unbeloved neighbour over her side seems to be in process of kondo-ing themselves away to another address, so that's happy news.:rotfl:

Hope all goes well for you GQ.

No kondoing inside but quite a lot done outside, the cellar has been cleared of 'stuff', a box from a sprayer that went in the bin a while ago, plastic sheets covering things from when the builders sprayed for woodworm and lots of plant pots, I swear they have been breeding down there during the winter.

Kondo'ing was very minimal this weekend as it was a very busy one.

Potatoes now out of the way and planted at the lottie and I cut down the amount of bedding we had. I gave that back to the peraon who donated it to us - felt wrong to sell it.

That has freed up an under bed box which I'm hoping tonight to put my wool stash into, and the plastic unit e the wool is currently in can go into the loft. Hoping we can do that tonight but let's see how energetic I am by the time I get home, lol

Heavens, GQ, I didn't realise your medical condition would impact even regular dental treatment :( I can see why you're treating it as a fact finding mission.

Kittie - I know what you mean about soft rugs, it sounds like you've found a lovely way of using what you've got.

My self imposed deadline of focussing almost exclusively on kondoing house and garden is the end of 31 March, this Friday. My sister is having the classic retirement (other than the whole bereavement thing around our mum, of course) - she's having coffee with friends, going out for the day to local attractions, going up to London to the theatre ... I don't have the same finances she does, but there are certainly cheaper versions that I *could* do. Got to get on with it now :) The kondoing is about saying goodbye to overgrown hedges, the worst weeds brambles and long grass, and dust bunnies that haven't been cleared in umpty tump years. By the end of Friday. After some of that, the kondoing can be continued by selling furniture/ books/ [STRIKE]tat[/STRIKE] valuable collectibles.

    Morning all.

Caravan went yesterday, without a hitch (see what I did there? :rotfl:) it was a teensy bit sad as it is the end of an era, but it hadn't turned a wheel for nearly three years and it was time. We went out for breakfast to [STRIKE]commiserate[/STRIKE] celebrate

All its innards are currently in the lounge, but I have started to sort. A bag of kitchenalia that DS can take to uni when he starts in September; some games that can go in the games cupboard or to the chazzer; some badminton /ping pong stuff for the chazzer; cleaning stuff, laundry liquid, bathroom consumables in the appropriate places to be used up. The bedding was in the house anyway but I may cull it further. There's a few manky pillows that can go. Toilet chemicals, and window airer thing can go to friends who still caravan.

There will be a bag of melamine plates, bowls etc and plastic glasses that we will put in the loft for now, in case we buy another, smaller caravan down the line and some odds and s0ds like extended wing mirrors can join them. If, when OH retires in two years, we can't see ourselves getting another van, then I will get rid / donate to friends if they need them.

We then came home yesterday and kondoed all the weeds from the garden :T :A

Oh and Mother's Day pressies also highly successful

OH bought me some perfume (though I did point out that I wasn't his mother :rotfl:); DS got me a cd that I had heavily hinted that I wanted ;) and DD bought me four second hand paper backs :T (she knows I like second hand books cos I can then read and redonate without guilt). One is a sequel so I have ordered the first one for £2 online, it was one I had only seen recommended the day before, which was a coincidence.

:j The toof is saved,.the toof is saved, hang out the bunting and break out the toffees - err, well, perhaps hang fire on the toffees, I've got more crowns on my back teeth than Her Maj has in her jewellery vault.

My lovely dentist analysed the results of the breakage and the X-rays and offered the choice; have it pulled or have it smoothed. It's most-of-a-molar and mostly functional, so has been smoothed to a wind-sculpted sand dune of a toof and will keep on truckin' for a while. I am soooo relieved. And, as it's got no nerve in it, there is no pain and was no nasty business with the needle.

Karmakat, my medical history causes healthcare professionals to have kittens, I really should have died twenty years ago this month and am being kept in the land of the living by the dark arts of Big Pharma. My paper notes up at the hospital run to three fat folders, each about 4 inches deep, and goodness knows how many bytes of data they take up on the pooters. My consultant occasionally introduces me to other consultants as a medical curiousity - I do like to be pre-warned so I can prepare a skit and not have to improvise.;):p

They treat me a bit like an unexploded bomb. If you met me, you'd think I was the picture of health, tho.

Nice work on the caravan, VJsMum, good to get it gone and into the hands of someone who will use it and, like you say, if you really want another one at a later life-stage, you can get one then.

The rest of the day is strictly for R & R, have come in and changed straight into my jammies and will be taking it very easy and having an early night. And an early bath.

So pleased your tooth was saved GQ. I broke a root canalled pre-molar a couple of years ago. Having it extracted wasn't fun, given how fragile it was. The only bonus was that as it was a pre-molar they could drop an implant straight in rather than having to grow the bone back and then have it drilled out again in the right place...

I'm planning an early bath and an early night too. I've done rather too much in the garden today...
