GQ :j and don`t I know exactly how you feel. I had the same option six months ago and I have the molehill. I too was ecstatic that day. These lovely dentists, mine is young female, I stayed with her wherever she went, so gentle and nice and good.
I am tired too, its the body clock having an enforced change. Just trying to take things steady at the moment, starting with some cycle maintenance, cleaned and lubricated chains on two bikes (I have three very different bikes), went from dark to silver and ran sweet as a nut, even put the chain back on one of them after it came off. Allotment then cake making just so I get through food stocks. I did make a full on veggie juice today as I needed the nutrients and that involves, washing, chopping and cleaning the masticator. I just cannot imagine having nothing to do
It has been a beautiful day but this time of the year always means more work :cool:0 -
So glad your tooth peg is OK GQ - and for all of you that are feeling somewhat drained have a restful evening and a good night's sleep.
DS2's gas fitter friend came today and removed my old built in cooker and fitted the replacement. I've sussed how it works and used it to do cheese on toast for DH & I so farDH has fitted a new door above the cooker and a new drawer below the cooker so lots more storage space BUT I'm only putting back the baking stuff that I use. No Justin's! DS1 is a good cook so I'll take a load of stuff to him tomorrow for him to cherry pick. Anything else will go to the CS. I want to make sure what I keep is easily accessible.
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
It's been a good day, I'm full of cold but pretty happy about the positive result at the dentist (and with the surprise meeting of someone I used to share a house with in the waiting room!) and have stocked up on fruit from the Magic Greengrocer.
Am bathed and relaxed and will have a very early night. I'm a firm believer in letting the body heal itself with rest and good food.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Well my clients missed me! I spent a few minutes altering various clocks at different homes today!! I caught up with all their news, which was interesting
, especially the reason the plumber had to be called (can't write the details here but suffice it to say that flushing anything other than human waste and paper down the loo WILL result in blockages
). Glad I was away when it went wrong!!
I was offered some extra hours as a one-off for a client later in April, which i shall do.
Have just Kondo'd a big selection of veg into HM soup to take to elderly friend tomorrow after art class. I am excited about the class because we are going to be doing a study in the style of one of my favourite living artists, Jolomo (aka John Lowrie Morrison). It will be very colourful and bold
As PWD reflected I am still benefitting from kondo of clothes, so getting ready in the morning is stress-free. I have improved my morning routine - clothing is put out ready the evening before and lunch is prepped and in the fridge ready. I have a to do list just for this evening and tomorrow, to keep me calm!
Tomorrow's kondo will be ... ... some narcissi from my garden. We have loads in bloom this week so i shall take some to friendsI have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.0 -
I spent a bit of time over the weekend listening to 'Spark Joy' on youtube in anticipation of extra kondo-time this week - end of the annual leave year means I was at work today but have the rest of the week off :j Feeling fairly inspired after listening to some of MK's words of wisdom.
Although I'm not sure it's always wisdom.... Had to chuckle when she talked about climbing into her clients empty cupboards to get a feel for the atmosphere in them and therefore what would be happiest being stored in there..... Imagining myself climbing into my empty cupboards - this would probably result in my needing to be rescued by the fire brigade. There's a thought..... just need to remember to make sure phone is close at hand for when I climb into and inevitably get wedged in a cupboard, so I can call the fire brigade rather than being stuck until my family notice I haven't visited for a while :eek:0 -
Good news about the tooth, GQ. I've got more fillings than teeth and it's always a worry. Dentist has just recommended replacement of a crown, and I've worked out that it was put in place 31 years ago, so it's done good service.
I won't be climbing inside any of my cupboards either, Lizzie. I wouldn't mind meeting a hunky fireman but don't really want to be in the local news for being stuck in a cupboard!Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone. Kindness in another’s trouble, courage in your own.0 -

The "atmosphere" in the cupboard under my stairs is cramped - and I didn't need to climb in to work that out :rotfl:I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
Haha I think I'd find that my clothes rail would collapse on my head in my old fitted wardrobes!
Half of the reason I have my clothes in a drawer under the bed kondoed is because our wardrobes need re-built as they weren't designed to hold the weight of clothes that fit in them. It's a very shoddy DIY job by the previous owner.“I want to be a glow worm, A glow worm's never glum'Coz how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?" ~ Dr A. Glad your tooth was saved GQ xx
The wool stash is in the box under the bed and we'll try and wrestle the plastic storage that it was in, up into the loft tomorrow. I have no idea what to crochet with the wool (no-one needs scarves or blankets)
I had wondered about snuggle blankets for rescue animals (as they won't care about the random colour combos :rotfl::rotfl:) but am not sure they are practical for them?
Oh, and I found all the crochet chickens that I made for BHWT from oddments but forgot to sendApril 2021 Grocery Challenge 34.29 / 2500 -
I think if I climbed in a cupboard here, I'd get odd looks (I'm rarely home alone) or one of the cats would decide to join me and then continuously squark indignately when I couldn't move to make a fuss :rotfl:April 2021 Grocery Challenge 34.29 / 2500
