To which your response was I could tell you how I did it but then I'd have to kill you.
Did you take to opportunity to make a konvert?
I'm waiting for the washing machine to finish with the bedroom curtains and then will rack them for a few hours while I'm off about other business. Which includes a morning at the very-reasonably-priced-antiquish-emporium where I shall be allowed to re-arrange the displays.I may even get some kondo-ing done in the office there, gawd knows it needs it. I think I've got all the stray silver out of the cellar, but I might go truffling again if there's time.

She does know, and did try but cant bring herself to get rid of stuff. So I did say that it was cos I had got rid of so much. I don't really get why she can't, it is just her and the children (her OH, my BiL, sadly died some years ago), she doesn't even have much of BiLs stuff there now.
The advantage of less stuff came into its own yesterday when I could whip round with a damp cloth and the Hoover in a bid to "make the house look cleaner than it actually is". We are under siege for the whole weekend so it will need cleaning again on Monday but it worked as long as no one looks to closelyI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Also, took a pile of stuff to the chazzer yesterday. Including DSs scooter and two big music stands. They were thrilled with these three items in particular and we're putting them in the window as I walked out of the door :T
DS has long outgrown the scooter and the children, whilst they both still play, don't use the music stands. I have shamefully kept a portable one for Justinbut I will think on it.
A not fit for purpose egg cup has just gone in the bin.... One of those Easter egg types that is too big to hold a normal egg and not any use for anything else.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
I am about to do an ebay blitz.
We have a 'loved' beer fridge in our house called 'stella.' I think you can work out where the name comes from! I am really torn with letting her go. Half of me knows she lays empty for 50% of the time [as we have been cutting down on our fizzy drinks and beer consumption] and is just taking up space and using electricity but the other part of me just can't do it.
Logic tells me there is more than enough room in the fridge in the kitchen now but it is so hard. Stella was a preloved purchase on ebay so not as though it is 'I paid good money for that' plays a role. I really can't decide if i am being harsh on Stella but the fact remains i go away and think for a while and keep coming back to the same problem and thoughts. I even opened it up to the kids by asking them how they would feel if i sold stella and they independently came to the same conclusion as me as she can be useful etc. and whether she is not stocked is due to lack of funds rather than lack of use.
And so she remains safe and hopefully content until i finish another chapter in KDing the house. Does anyone else have this one item like this or is it just me?Don’t put it down - put it away!

As you may know I personally love make up and I have a moderate collection of it. I've just revised make up again as the mention on here of the charity which accepts used items in good condition had stuck in my head. Also having the time and space the other week to mess about with colours led me to get to the bottom of a problem - even though the eyeshadow is a nice colour which looks good, it looks different on me!
Armed with a new dislike of anything which when applied to hand (easier to see and move in the light) which has a pale cool silver sheen rather than a warm gold reflection is on it's way - cleaned, sharpened, wiped over and will be posted shortly. I didn't know Justin wore makeup :rotfl:
For any "make up novices" my number one tip would be to get a blusher in a pink/coral/peach with gold flecks, apply it lightly with a wide brush to cheeks. Suits most skin tones and ages, can be bought for about £5 from any basic makeup range at high street shops and will give you a nice glow and should't make you look like a painted doll!Jan 20 - NST challenge

Generally speaking, the right length of skirt is one which doesn't strike the leg at its widest point. There's also the hitch-up factor to consider as skirts ride up when the wearer sits down, so a just-above-the-knee skirt can quickly become a half-one's-thighs-on-show skirt, which may not be the look you were aiming at!:rotfl:

oo thanks GQ, that was such a very helpful post, made such a lot of sense and I will be going for it, next weekand I like the matching tights look
I need a stationery drawer, so I have to empty a drawer and that means sorting drawers containing those leads and tablets and mp3s. I`ll just have to do it, more kondo to come and hopefully today. At least I can have bopping music on in that room, while I work. A proper stationery drawer will be key to much more sortedness. I have a good electronic scales from when I weighed my own parcels, hole punch etc, they need a settled home in my house0 -
Glad to be of help, kittie.
Being long-legged and standard-length torso, I need to balance my body-type out with longer length tops and jackets or I do look like I'm on stilts (34 inch inside leg). I believe VJsMum has mentioned being about the same height as me. It has its own challenges but striving to look leggier isn't one of them.
I have two skirts but I'm not much of a fan as I dislike hosiery intensely and have to wear flat shoes and with large feet, well, it's a bit unflattering.
Am taking a few minutes online to digest my lunch (M&S yellow sticker salad, 25p) before heading up to the allotment for a couple of hours.
Had a delightful time at the shop and assisted a customer to spend over £200 and have made some shiny things shinier and more artfully arranged. Little things please little minds..........Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Think I am a bit shorter - I am 5'7" my DD is 5'9 and my sister is 5'10. I am the short aris in my house :rotfl:
Have had a baking fest for the hoards. One large gammon, one broccoli quiche, one traditional quiche, one mostly pecan pie, some orange ice cream, banoffi pie and chocolate mousse cake. We are feeding 10 tonight and 12 tomorrow. OH and I are sleeping in the caravan tonight, partly to keep people off the floors and partly cos it's nearly our last chanceI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Some admin done and copies filed.
Random kondo was some lovely looking coloured pencils in a nice tin that were Useless! Virtually no colour was deposited on the paper no matter how you used them  They were a gift so the lingered too long.they are now in CS bag with 3 books and an old shoulder bag that no longer sparks joy.
GQ, your post about skirts was so informative. Thank you so much! I love skirts and hate hosiery but longer skirts are not flattering on my short frame....! I have to wear trousers for my work and have 2 pairs of cheap black ones that serve me well. I try to wear nice tops to brighten me up!
Yes, Tibawo, there are 2 large items in my small home that I'D like to release but DH cannot part with. I Keep returning to them, it is bugging me. Ah well, much has been achieved so mustn't grumbleI have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.0
