Wow, Siebrie, was that really four weeks?! Doesn't seem possible.
Came in from w*rk and checked my freegling and have two people asking for two things which hadn't been asked for before, so they might even leave later today, plus another thing which is slated to leave today but hasn't yet gone.
Have been a busy bee before work and stripped and laundered bedlinen, will be pulling my winter duvet cover out, the snuggly brushed cotton one, as I think it's cold enough now.
Mum got that for pennies at a boot fair and I'm disproportionately fond of it. One of the simple joys of the colder weather.
The scales will have a wash down with hot soapy water and will go to the chazzer tomorrow, along with a couple of other items. I am also chopping up the battered and grubby candle stubs which will eventually be melted and made into brand new pillar candles. This is something I do for amusement, using Prungle tubes as moulds. Very much a wintertime hobby.
I am slooowly starting to see the floor again............:D:o

With sadness I am Kondoing an almost-new pair of jeans, bought only a few weeks ago from M&S. They're stretch jeans, they fitted comfortably in the shop but after only a couple of outings they were so loose that I could take them off without undoing them  I've tried a hot wash, but yesterday I realised that they're not going to cure themselves and it's a lost cause - I'm hanging onto them because I paid £35 but they don't fit and I hate wearing them.
That might sound obvious to some people but believe me, a year ago those jeans would have stayed in the cupboard and kept annoying me! The ability to recognise when something isn't working is one of the benefits MK has brought.Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone. Inspired by your post PollyWollyDoodle - I went straight to my wardrobe and found a similar pair of trousers folded up on top shelf and put them in charity bag. Good quality but they keep falling down - I have another very similar pair which are perfect.2025 Decluttering Campaign 747/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

That's annoying PWD, but think of positivity; some other woman will have her chazzer-clothing-find-of-the-year, and that you have evolved beyond hanging onto things for Justin, and are finally free of his clutches.
Had some mixed results on the freegle front; two people who were going to pick up yesterday are now slated to come today and one person has withdrawn a request, so it's two steps forward and one backwards atm.
I shall get there in the end and will be heading out the door shortly with a big bag of chazzer donations which includes the scales and weights, will be delightful to drop those off.
I may also start moving back into my kitchen cupboards - I shall forgo redecorating the walls behind them for now, that can wait until warmer weather or the next water leak from above (this was the second one) whichever happens first.
Hope everyone had a good day. GQ xEvery increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

I got a real kick out of those of you who like to fold your underwear. Now me, I did go through it all plus my socks and dispose of the joyless ones. I then chose to ignore the folding instructions and stuffed my underwear in one drawer and socks in another. It's mostly dark when I get up so I just open the needed drawer, stick my hand in and haul out the first first I come to. Works for me.
Overprepare, then go with the flow.

I have decided that i am officially a 'weekender kd'er' - after September my diary usually calms down until December but not this year!
I have got rid of an eBay pile but dd's next craft fairs are soon so piles are forming for these! The last one is early December so as that finishes the Christmas decorations get put up!
So this weekend, in between being mums taxi I will tackle of box of things off the shelf where things need finding a proper home, a tub of dumped things that need to be checked for 'joy' or they are a job in need of completion before putting away e.g. brownies badges sewing on!
Happy thoughts to all!Don’t put it down - put it away!

Polly if you have an Oxfam near you, they will give you a £5 off a £35 spend M&S voucher if you take in an item of clothing from M&S. They don't advertise it but just show your trousers to the person behind the till. It's valid for the remainder of the calender month - if you go in during the last couple of days of the month, they will usually offer you a voucher for next month
Of course, you won't be using it to buy another pair of trousers but if there's something else you want, it might soften the blowIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0 -
I find that with stretch jeans too Polly, given up buying the for that reason.
Started another CS box, trying to clear the kitchen should the builder come to rip it out any time soon, dishwasher on a vinegar only run to clean it ready for selling on, going to advertise it when it's finished and I can take photos of it gleaming!
Sorted the bucket under the sink, how many cleaning cloths does a house need? Must be 30 in there! Kondo'd a pair of marigolds to the bin, they aren't leaking but my hands smell when I take them off. Using another pair that I obviously didn't like as they have been used, they'll do until they get a hole in.
Good to hear your Nan's bits and bobs are helping the CS GreyQueen, I remember spending many a happy hour weighing things with my Mums old 'weight' scales.0 -
Well, it's been a busy week after my car boot success last Sunday - amazing how much it's inspired me!
At the moment I am doing things in completely the wrong order, although I'm sure MK would forgive as I am ultimately heading in the direction of her method. I've been doing lots of returning things to their more or less rightful locations to be properly sorted and organised at a later date. I know the aim is to only touch each object once and make a decision there and then, but I'm still trying to get as many similar things together as possible, so I can go through them properly. However, as I'm relocating things I reckon at least a quarter of them have already been shown the door, so I am making some progress.
I've recycled a couple of boxes full of paper, put 3 things on gumtree (so fingers crossed!), and sent my Dad off to the CS yesterday with 2 boxes of books, a large bag of old clothes for rags, 3 net curtains and the poles that went with them, a kingsize duvet that was never used, a lampshade, a sandwich toaster and a radio alarm cloak, a box full of all sorts of random stuff that I sorted for the CS a few months and managed not to look into!
There was one further box that nearly didn't go as I feel guilty letting it go - when my parents moved house about 10 years ago my Mum split up a set of wine glasses that they received as a wedding present - they are cut glass and it was a set of 12 of 4 different sized glasses. She kept 4 of each, gave 4 to my sis, and 4 to me. Now these glasses are totally not to my taste (and since I don't drink alcohol, and rarely entertain they're not useful to me), and have been sitting in this box gathering dust ever since she gave them to me, but I've held on to them as I've felt bad about getting rid of them. I've spoken to my Mum a couple of times and said I was planning on giving them to the CS, and she seemed cool with it. I mentioned it again yesterday and said they'd be going - she looked a bit sad, but didn't take the opportunity to take them back. BTW, they never use the ones they've kept either. Anyway, with a slight twinge of sadness or guilt I sent the box off to the CS with my Dad. Isn't it funny how something that is completely useless and in a way meaningless to you can cause such angst?! I mean they were joyful in the sense that they relate to my parents wedding and the fact they've been married for 48 years, but they're not something that we've ever really used as a family, so they have no memories for me personally, and I know my Mum doesn't even really like them that much anyway!!! So now they're off on a journey to bring joy to someone else.0
