:) Morning all. And thank you for all your kind wishes.

Up early but not too bright, as didn't get in until after 10 pm last night and haven't slept brilliantly, but will go to w*rk and then come home and do some more sleeping if necessary.

The funeral went well, the church was packed, people cried, we laid her to rest beside my Grandad, as one of a row of family graves in an ancient English village churchyard. The sun shone, it was bitterly cold, we were sad, and then we gathered in the village hall and remembered the good times.

Reminisences, old photographs shared, news caught up on, visits to each other promised. All the usual stuff.

I brought home a couple of bags of Stuff which will be going to a charity shop this afternoon after work. Money for the Red Cross to do good works, I'm sure Nan would approve.

Dad met me off the bus in the hometown yesterday morning, having taken advantage of bringing the car down (they live on the very edge of town) to get three more boxes into the chazzers.

Bearing in mind they (and I) have been taking boxes and bags out of there for weeks now, or so it seems, I can only come to the conclusion that said boxes have managed to re-produce in their home and they are going to keep on coming, like guppies or summat.:rotfl:

LizzieR, wow to all you've achieved, sounds like you've found your mojo and lost a huge amount of weight, too. Congratulations on all you've achieved and good wishes for what you'll be achieving in the future.

Righty, time to see what the rest of the interwebulator is up to. I like to keep an eye on that crowd on the prepping thread, dodgy bunch of types, I've always thought (sez she, a stalwart among them).;)

    Morning all
Glad yesterday went as well as it could GQ

Ds1 had a friend round to game last night so we couldn't watch tv instead we had an IMDb session with some of the more iffy looking titles instead of giving them the planned 10 minute watch. They were easily added to the CS pile, which now contains several boxsets we've decided life is to short to waste watching. There are about 100 including some boxsets so another CS run is imminent.

Bedsit Bob is talking about motorbike trailers over on the prepping thread GQ. Be glad he's not thinking of getting a sidecar!

:) Boggling at the thought of all the DVDs chez mrs-moneypenny. I was once around someone's home and they told me proudly they had 250 DVDs.

At which point I bit my tongue to stop myself blurting out WHY? I'd struggle to find 20 movies I like well enough to watch more than twice, never mind keep loads on hand. Plus, I have three chazzer DVDs on shelf waiting watching and re-donation and am feeling slightly oppressed by their weight.

    :o I think I'm just a hard sell or a rubbish consumer.

Do so agree with the idea of giving movies a few minutes and then stopping if they're not floating your boat. Life is short enough already. I used to feel obligated to slog my way through each and every book I'd ever started but will now give them 30 mins' tops and stop if they're not engaging me.

I have found a tea plate sitting in the top of a box of Nan's Stuff which I recognised. I bought it from a jumble sale in her village as a child as it is the same orange and lemons pattern but different in respect of the painted rim being green instead or orange. It has a chip out of the underside, so not donatable, but I have brought it into my life to use as a practical memento - it will live on the top of a pile of teaplates and be used constantly. Eventually, it'll be knocked off and go to the great crockery bin in the sky.

ETA; maryb, I have ridden in a motorbike sidecar as both foetus and small child as my parents used to have one on Dad's BSA, back in the sixties. Wonderful old thing, fully enclosed There are several photos of me as a young girl cleaning motorbikes, sitting on motorbikes, along with my Dad.

At least I think it's Dad, can't really remember him having all his hair, like he does in those pix.

Thanks to everyone for the welcome back! It's much appreciated, and will certainly motivate me to keep posting and clearing stuff :) oh and thanks for the kind comments about my weight loss and wishes for my new business venture. Good luck to those of you who are also trying to kondo a few lbs - I know it's a tough old journey.

Having ventured into the garage yesterday afternoon, I have now sorted out my camping stuff - it's not all quite made it inside yet as I couldn't face lugging it in. However, I have sorted the camping 'kitchen' box out and managed to fit everything back into one box - somehow it had separated itself into 3 boxes after various camping trips... I can only fit one of them in my little car when I've got the rest of the camping stuff in there so not sure why/how that happened! Anyway, it's all packed up and ready for the next camping trip with a few basic dried food goods in there - all of which are well in date :o

I also decided to sort out a couple of boxes of baking stuff that I had - I used to make lots of cakes and lovely things, but these aren't really conducive to weight loss, and I haven't really had time to use them for the last couple of years anyway. I've rationalised it from 2 large storage boxes to about a third of a box, which I'm pretty happy about. I also went through all of the part used cake toppings and edible decorations to discover most of them were out of date - now I'm not normally squeamish about BB dates, but 2012 is too far back for even me!

I realised that some of the baking stuff I had is rather lovely (and festive), and I could probably sell it rather than just taking it to the charity shop - I wouldn't feel quite so bad about all the money I spent on it that way, and could hopefully use any money to help with buying tools for my new business. This morning I had a look at the sort of prices being charged on E-bay - wow - I don't think I can compete with China or HK.... Thought about Gumtree, but don't really want the hassle of arranging for folks to come round to collect stuff. So I had resigned myself to CSing it all - then remembered we have some indoor car boot sales in the area - I guess it's worth a few hours of my time to try and shift stuff. Stall at said car boot is now reserved for Sunday morning, so time to scour the flat and find some more stuff to take along with me. Wish me luck!

Please post as you go Eltee12, and LizzieR, it keeps the rest of us inspired! I love the idea of an indoor bootsale to shift bakeware, great timing I reckon :)

I have cooking plans for tomorrow, although I should be wallpapering! I want to make low carb choc almond biscuits and stuffed chicken br**sts using a great sausagemeat stuffing recipe - once cooked I slice and freeze for really tasty low carb lunch or snack. I need to pep up my low carb diet, got in a bit of a rut and weight loss is very slow this last 3 weeks so assume I need to adjust consumption to get metabolism going again.

Managed to kondo the 4 videos that were hanging on, in a not - very - moneysaving way! I found
dvds to replace at 2 for 99p and (whispers) 2 for £4 each ( they are both over 3 hours of long). I have spent £10 and will get hours of entertainment for both of us and I have reclaimed a cupboard in my sideboard :)
DH is pretty good at weeding the dvds once we have watched them although he has kept some souvenir ones - airshows, rail trips and a helicopter ride on our holiday of a lifetime when we turned 40 ( very recently - well OK, not so recently :rotfl:).
I have just added another to the collection though.....Tai chi for beginners. I love it and am happy to exercise and meditate at home on dark nights.

    M
I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.

    Sound deelish...recipes please!

Kodoing slow and steady here. $ bin bags tagged and ready to go to CS at weekend and 7 items sold on Eb*y tonight - 2 going for more than twice the price I paid for them off Eb*y originally  On the down side I have bought a couple of bags sa mine I use for for EVERYTHING - I am not a handbag person - is beginning to look a bit old and is annoying me. One bag looks promising the other is not me at all and is going back. Once I have decide on a bag the old one with be sent to CS - it has life in it still for someone - so no gaining of stuff :)
