Loving reading in people's posts of so many joyful things.
Mins game really didn't happen this month due to RL however will try again in October. Packing today to go away on extra holiday this week and hope to find more things to Kondo in the process.
Two sides of shed have been painted by friend (Forest Green, not Autumn Gold although I did smile when seeing it on shop shelf) and plan for the other two sides to be done once back from trip. Winter's supply of logs all stacked neatly inside (have to keep popping in to admire friend's work of art) and new boiler ordered ready to be fitted upon return so will be warm this winter.
After the holiday, all spare cash will be saved for repair works, improvements and adaptations to the new house (once we get it of course!) with the current plan being to move in the spring.
Greenbee, I dislike modern furniture because it is so expensive and mostly not to my taste so decided to buy an antique bed for not much more money. The great thing about antique is it has a resale value unlike modern MDF.
There's a good website called sellingantiques.co.uk which lists items from small antique dealers all over the country and I bought my (exceedingly joyful) bed from this site.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅0 -
Woke up this morning facing a v busy day of visiing an exhibition and then 2 lotsmof family. About 10 hours, inc travelling, scheduled. I also have some damsons that need dealing with today, before they deteriorate (been a few days since picked them). So I have rebelled! Told DH we needed to drop visit to exhibition, it's on for a while and can be rescheduled.
He disappeared, assumed me was sulking a bit as he doesn't like changes to plans (:rotfl:).
Have made the jam and started the damson gin :T
made a ' to do' list to keep me sane for next busy days, rather than trying to retain order of play in my brain alone!
Gave kitchen a swish n swipe.
DH reappeared.
He had been sorting through Stuff and has just bagged up items for SIL carboot :j
HE should have done mins game! So old camera and lenses, assorted cards and games, 20 or so magazines, a few pens, some clothing and trouser belts and othe komono now being bagged for dropping off at SIL's. AND, he is going to go through his many gardening mags and cut out the articles he wants to keep and put in ring binder provided by me, so he can recycle remainder of
mags!
You never know what the day holds, do you??!!!
Have some joy in your day Everyone!
MI have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.0 -
My excuses I have been MIA for a while so have just skimmed the back posts
GQ - sorry to hear your sad news about your nan and I am thinking of you.
Speky - well done on your recent kondo!
To those who mentioned computer junk - this came up on my Facebook feed
http://lm.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Ffortune.com%2F2016%2F09%2F26%2Fhow-the-tidiest-woman-in-the-world-organizes-her-email%2F&h=ZAQE8voL7&s=1
Hope I've done that right !!
I've been getting ready for the new kitty who will arrive in 2 weeks :T
I have made space in kitchen cupboard by putting all first aid items in an empty drawer in airing cupboard, so that the kitty food and litter can sit in there. I also took out all things from other cupboards gave them a clean and tidy disposed of some ood items. Plus a v old sandwich maker which survived kondo last time ! Put a couple of bottles of spirits back into garage cupboard where they live. OH always has to have a hot toddy when feeling a cold coming on ,but never puts the bottles back:(
The builder is starting on the conservatory on Tues, and hopefully will be finished by the time kitty arrives. He has said 2 weeks but the worst stuff will be done 1st week,
I was getting worried as I didn't want to cause upset to kitty when he's settling in.
I have already emptied the conservatory only the couch and extra large palm to move now.
Feeling chilly here today , hope we don't need to be thinking about heating so soon in the year !

Morning all
Hope everyone is as well as can be.
Thought of you this morning GQ sains have started a new vegan cheese range someone took exception to a product being called a cheese when it contains no animal milk. They posted a rant somewhere saying that they may as well call it Gary or something like that rather than cheese. Sains have taken the ball and run so I'm told the products have a tongue in cheek reference to being Gary on their packaging.
Enjoy your weekend allSPC~12 ot 124

Enjoy your weekend allToo funny! I shall have to tell Gary the Towel, currently on holibobs in the airing cupboard as I am focussing the wear and tear on two other towels exclusively, with the intent of wearing them up.
I was suggesting something similar to Mum. They lost their (not big) airing cupboard last year when the tank was taken out to fit the new combi boiler in there, previously they had a back boiler in the sitting room. This meant that the linens were even more chaotic than usual.
I managed to get all the bedlinens in the divan drawers under their bed, but there were still a lot of other things in the textile line, such as towels, tea towels, flannels (English-English for face cloths, mila). The overflow has been caused by buying new supplies before the last ones were used up, because they were a bargain.
Therefore, there are towels in every stage from fairly worn out, half worn out, barely worn, absolutely pristine. I'd be tempted to remove all the newest ones from circulation until some of the oldest have died-in-service to free up the space. This being what I am doing at home with my towels and tea-towels and bedsheets.I thought today might be a washout as it had rained overnight, but it has cleared out and is presently warm and sunny and not windy. I am having a wee rest then will head allotmentwards with a box of matches and an evil glint in my eye.
I came, I saw, I incinerated - whee!:rotfl:Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

My late Grandma (the one who passed away in 1970) used to refer to her drawers as 'harvest festivals' - meaning all is safely gathered in!
I think it was possibly an old music hall gag, but she may have invented it.
Tomorrow is supposed to be the better of the two weekend days here, also, but I don't know if it'll be windy or what direction it'll be coming from and, as it's presently pretty calm here, will go up and check things out. If the stalks feel dry to the touch, I think I'll just go for it and start burning things.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Due to major upheavals in family life coming shortly (Granny in waiting!) I dragged DH into the attic room - ooo-er! - and sorted out the Christmas box: neighbour gifts, friends gifts all accounted for, yay!
I located the bag of tombola gifts that I sorted out in the summer, added the Christmas cards I made earlier this year and they are ready to be passed on next week.
I also finished the 4 shoeboxes for the Christmas appeal.
All-round joyfulness.I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0
