    Excellent point. :D

How much would we keep if we had no cupboards at all? I know how stressed I'd feel having to look at everything every day, let alone navigate it.

I babysat the other night and had forgotten my book so I picked up their Argos catalogue to flick through, curious as to what I'd been missing all these years. Answer = nothing. It actually made me feel quite unnerved - all that stuff in there.
:) Yeah, and remember when you didn't need a fork-lift truck to lift an Argos catalogue, either? So much stuff, it weirds me out whenever I see all that Stuff.

Mind you, I can get a bit twitchy anywhere there's a lot of Stuff for sale, unless it's open air like a boot sale. The mall gives me the heebie-jeebies because there's no natural light and Stuff all over the place.

Having given some considerable thought to the matter, I have more-or-less decided that a dehumidifier would be a useful lifestyle aid for a woman living in a tiny flat. I will do some research and then source one, can get at a Bee and Queue if I saddle the pushbike and head up the hill. Why oh why is everything I need up a blinking hill?:rotfl:

But yes, cupboarding things is a great way to develop an unintentional amnesia about what we own. If we had to wade through it everyday, we'd rapidly lose patience with a lot of it, I reckon.

Wow, this is odd. Possibly woo. :D
I've cleared space for the decorator and... OK, can barely make it through the bedroom but this clear living room is fantastic. I love it. it's so empty, so little distraction. And clear work surfaces in the kitchen, wow.
I gave a bluray to a friend last night and he was staggered that I was giving it away since I didn't have a duplicate copy. :rotfl: Seen the film didn't fancy ploughing through the extras, let it go. 2 more items are going to another friend this weekend, similar reason. It's going to be interesting when I get back from my travels on Monday afternoon :D

  • Today I officially became Debt Free!!!! And so my Kondo'ing is well timed, a fresh start. Any money made from selling things during the clean out goes straight to the savings and towards the deposit for a house.

I now feel even more determined because the money made stays in my pocket as opposed to going to the banks to pay of bloody debt.

I think I'll have another good go at clearing up on Sunday, looking forward to it.
  • Congratulations, Speky - what a great feeling, and KM is a brilliant help, not only if you can make some money from unwanted Stuff but also because youll find you're not spending so much on fripperies.

2 fleabay items posted today and a boxful of various random unwanted items delivered to CS.

More paper from OH went into recycling box.

Last year's accounts paperwork delivered to accountant (temporarily out, as these will be back soon! :)) - managed to find some excess paperwork to recycle/ burn whilst sorting them out :)

Put one of my favourite pairs of socks on this morning to discover a hole, so they have gone into textile recycling bag. Have informed OH that I need thin (not fluffy, as he is inclined to buy) socks for Xmas - but that they must be joyful ones :D:D

ETA: another fleabay item sold and paid for, so that will be posted tomorrow :)

Well done on becoming debt free speky

Job application has been handed in so its in the lap of the gods now.

Got to put ds1 some tea on soon as he's got a train to catch, he's got a gig as supporting act for a band he likes down there. (Not sure why I refer to London as down, I've been pulled up for that a few times and told I must have a railway background as that's how railmen refer to it)

Then I can get on with glossing, not really Kondoed anything today.
