Oceanspirit - thanks for the website... didn't find a wardrobe but I have found a lovely bed :) Not sure the timing is quite right as I don't have anywhere to put the old one, which will be needed by my DB and SIL next year. I'll have to check whether they have room under their spare bed to store the mattress...

    :j Yesssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Spent 40 minutes building my bonfire from scratch and then it started to spit with rain. I torched it and most of it roared away in less than 10 mins, the flames were *this* high - that's about 10 ft to those who can't see me gesticulate over the interwebulator. Impressed the hell out of some small boys passing on the road.

Then, when I'd raked the debris into a shin-high heap to continue smouldering, the heavens opened with a thunderstorm. Not to clever to be standing on one of the highest bits of ground for a mile or two holding metal implements. So I came away.

Not before getting completely soaked. Home and showered, clothes in the washer and a vast amount of dead herbiage, including the felled chard forest from a few months ago, incinerated.

    :D Colour me well-satisfied.

You know those smoothie drinks they sell in supermarket chillers, a particular brand sells them during the autumn with little knitted hats on the lids, everyone sold with a hat on gets an amount raised for age concern. It's those, I make them every year to use up the Tenby oddments of wool that would normally not be enough for anything else.
It's a bit of fun and a good cause, details here:-

    :p Well I never!

I don't like smoothies so don't pay any attention to such cabinets. Are they be-hatted this early in the autumn? I think I'd like to see this phenomenon.

Not noticed any in the shops yet, I'll tel you when I notice them in the local shops -usually boots or Sainsbury's - I don't buy them I just like to knit them, they are like little egg cosies and look quite cheerful sitting in the chiller with their hats on

:) I've just found them on the big knit website. They look fun, I shall have ruffle around and see if I have some needles small enough here (could always scrounge some from Mum next time I'm over her's if not) and will have a go at some of the simplest ones. The deadline to send them in is 31/01/2017 according to the website, so I guess they appear on the bottles some time after that?

I'm chuffed I asked you, had been wondering for some time but got distracted by something else before asking.

Because it's an annual thing I wasn't sure if they had some stock from last years knit left imsure they appear in the shops in the run up to Christmas.
I've got a carrier bag in the cupboard I add to all year then post them off towards the end, a few years they have been accepted at age uk shops to save postage. If that's the case they usually put posters in the windows of accepting shops (it saves on postage that way)

:) I've just got a pair of 3.5s out and a ball of DK and must not start until I've got the meal on! You're a bad influence, mrs-moneypenny. :p
