  • Evening all, many thanks to Fen1 and Floss - new dehumudifier is running and flatmate spoken to. I'll try to talk to him more tomorrow to get it to sink in

Its really annoying that I already do air the flat out 24/7 - but the rain the last few weeks has just stopped it doing enough. Targeting flat mate's room tomorrow as I really don't want to run an electric dehumidifier when there are other things that might help (like not stapling a dressing gown flat against a window for 18 months, I did tell him to keep an eye on it.This is why he gets checked up on like a kid)

Getting rid of items needs to wait atm - might have torn my stitches and am incredibly grumpy today!

21 old bills shredded (not policemen :p)

81 digital photos deleted (yes, I did count)

    Up to date again...
I wanna be in the room where it happens
  • Good morning all.

Busy work day yesterday so not much done but did find time to post two Bay parcels and bids on other items came in so it's looking good. These are formerly annoying little things that it's nice to see find a new home.

  • Morning all
Hope everyone is well. The power of woo saw me getting offered another extra job at work yesterday, I'm very tempted but reality and practicalities dictate that it would be impossible to take it full time with the other two jobs I already have plus the lure of extra cover days I get offered. Spoke it over with Dh last night and have said I'd like it 2 or 3 days a week so will tell them I'm happy to job share it. They do have someone else who's interested in sharing the week so that won't be a problem.
My kitchen fund can start sooner than I hoped!!!

    Mins game day 22
    17 DVDs
    2 knee supports
    Back support
Instruction book Box of camera accessories (for a camera we no longer have)
    iPod arm strap

I'm busy all day today so hope everyone has a joyful day. I'll try and catch up later.

  • Organised the shed yesterday so it's now lovely and tidy. 4 more tins of solid paint to go to the tip plus 2 rotten log bags binned.

So, down to only 413 things to get rid of for mins game before the end of next week!

Proposed building work has been put on hold as .... we have found a house :j. Offer has been accepted so it's just the legal work now. Trying not to get excited until contracts are exchanged but having given up hope of living together after looking for 3 years it's difficult not to.

Big reason to push on with Kondoing though as don't want to move all the carp.

So, house will probably complete at the same time as poorly rellie comes out of hospital and will need support at the same time as OH going into hospital for 2 weeks. Sigh, we'll just have to cross that bridge when it comes to it. At least with OH in rented and me not selling mine for now we don't have to move on a specific date and can take our time.

Adrenalin is running high due to the stress from the changed work circumstances. I don't like it, but may as well use it to get the house in order.

DH is saying none of his shoes are a proper fit, and he will take every single pair with him to his home country next month. We will see... I'll have to have a discussion with him about the uselessness of buying non-fitting shoes, wasting resources, etc.. I do NOT appreciate items being bought as if for himself, worn once, and then passed on to family.

What I seem to be kondoing most at the moment is emotions and tasks.

  • I started on the big mess in the dining room yesterday. I only did one small corner but it's such an improvement! It's the table where everyone dumps everything and kicks their shoes underneath it when they first walk in the door .

All the things in the pile was put away where they belong, donated to the charity shop or binned. Nothing was added to the other piles. :j

I've told DH and DD to keep their !!!! off the table and put their shoes away where they belong from now on. There is a pile of boxes under the table, those are items that are currently on ebay. They are out of the way but also easily accessible and hopefully will be gone in the next week or so.

I think I will be done with the dining room before the end of October and possibly the whole house before Xmas. The thought of celebrating in a lovely clutter-free house for xmas and having people over and not being embarrassed is very inspiring. My closet is still pristine and the door is still open so I can stare lovingly into it several times a day... ;)

Ignore the mess outside the window - our little yard is on my list of things to sort out properly but will probably be left until last.

  • Oceanspirit everything crossed for successful contract exchange and immenint move in together.

Thistle after photo looks fab well done on all your hard work.

Siebrie is he actually buying the for himself or is it a way of helping out someone 'at home' by getting them with them in mind.

Got stopped on way out of work today and shown a course they want me to do if the heads agree it should all go ahead tomorrow so something else to occupy me. Can't wait. I'll certainly have no spare time for a few months. But I'm really looking forward to the challenge.
