Morning all
Polly the songs by Frank turner and it's on YouTube if you want to listen. (Peggy sings the blues) I love the new positve songs for negative people album he's done, so many songs sum up the ethos of this thread. Another lyric (from if I ever stray) I like is
As long as I've got me a place to sleep
Clothes on my back and some food to eat
I can't ask for anything more
I'm in work all day today, so not bout to kondo or chat. I'll try and catch up later, have a joyful day all.SPC~12 ot 124

Hello everyone. Was on here a few times last year, I read the book, did my knicker drawer, did most of my home in a couple of months. I never looked back.
My home is clutter free, cleaning is a breeze. I spend about an hour in bed on Sunday mornings with a pot of coffee and a pile of toast catching up on you all, I laugh and cry with you all every week.
I am happier, calmer and total stress free, I don’t give a fig about anyone or anything. I'm polite and courteous to all, and speak to total strangers on my walks with my lovely dog. Surprisingly they all smile and usual mutter something in reply. Life is great.
Last year I walked more with my OH and dog. Visited local National Trust places. Visited local towns and generally spent time out in the fresh air. My spending was down as I didn't buy stuff for my home or myself and family.( I follow the NBI thread to) I saw amazing sunrise and sunsets I saw nature for the first time as I really was tuned in to life around me. Instead of charging around like a blue a**ed fly.
This is all down to a funny little book from Japan. Our Kondo leader has a few wacky ideas but they really do work . No, I don’t empty my handbag everyday but I do thank my things as they leave the house. I talk to my car and my house and the dog.
So all the newbies and those's that are a bit stuck I say keep at it. My recommendation is do the categories, I found if I did a drawer or room at a time, like our Leader says it rebounds on you and you'll find yourself keeping things that don’t bring you joy or you will find you have the same items all over the house in different places.
Finally to Fen1 go enjoy your holiday, it might be a trip of a lifetime it may be the first of many, I hope it is. Enjoy, relax and be happy.

Excellent news Fen1 - now just relax and enjoy!
Wise words tealady - thank you. I'm only glimpsing the Kondo majic but I can see the glowSmall victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
:T Wow, TeaLady, what a testimonial. So thrilled for you and love the image of you chilling out in bed, enjoying your extra leisure.
I've just nipped onto my account on the library website to check on my reservations and it doesn't give a ranking for my position on the Spark Joy book but it does say that it is on its way into the library system. I had a hunch I might be able to put a reserve on it before it was even available, and it was possible, so did that in early December.
I'm slightly excited, really hope it doesn't disappoint.
Righty, off to the cinema. Not often you say that at this hour of the morning. If anyone wants me, I shall be in a galaxy far far away.
 May the force be with you!Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Thank you, Tea Lady - inspiration for anyone just starting this process or struggling halfway through.Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone. Kindness in another’s trouble, courage in your own.0

Tea lady I should like to thank your post twice!!
So, today I am in lunnon town about to enrol onto my PhD. Amazing, and, as someone at work said yesterday, "it started with clearing out your sock drawer".
And I am not even nervous, and not once have I said "what have I done?". But then, I haven't started yet :rotfl:
I have a couple of weeks of juggling both job and PhD induction thingys, which won't be fun, but then it's all systems go....
:jI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Like the quote vjSmum - it started with clearing out your sock drawer - should be our mantra on this thread. Good luck with PhD - you will get there.
Slow going here - asked DH to redo T shirts as drawer packed - only one left for CS and the others went in sleep drawer. However, he went in loft and brought down lots of photography equipment which he has put up for sale.
Tidied desk and cleared notice board and receipt tin mostly into recycling.2025 Decluttering Campaign 733/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

Hi there all Clutter busters
Just like to say thank you for the thanks.
I'd like to encourage everyone to carry on, there is a great life to be had after the clutter and total jumble that comes with reducing your things.
Today is my day off. I have to walk the dog, drop into town and pick up some bits of shopping (milk and veg) I'm still using up bits and bobs from my freezer a year after I started this kondoing. Tidying up will take a few minutes then the rest of the day is mine to do what I like with.
I like this life.
I have a carrier bag full of carp for the CS. I still find things all over the house, my tastes change all the time, something I thought brought me joy, I find doesn’t now. Out it goes. Like GQ I like clear spaces and I find myself moving toward being a minimalist.
Be good
T Lady0
