Has anyone received the Lakeland email this morning?
Buy storage according to Marie Kondo's method.
Didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
They're also selling the book at a discounted price......0 -

Looking forward to today's meet up, just had breakfast do going to take a book and kondo a coupe if hours reading on the beach. Discovered the joys of geocaching with ds2 so spent a few happy hours treasure hunting with him met a lovely lady because of it. Sheringham is as lovely and peaceful as I remember.
Sounds idyllic and I am sure that the meet up will be great fun, have a lovely time together ladies.
On Sunday I kondoed some of my store cupboard ingredients into a tray of flapjack and a black forest gateau. I have always baked and having an OH who burns a lot of calories cycling it was pretty :money: as well as knowing what one is eating.
Since I became poorly and totally fatiqued this has become one of the many household activities that has been neglected, felt good to produce something nice and tasty.
1 bag of clothes and a couple of hard back books (cs purchase) ready for cs drop and I actually found my missing jewelry items when having a blitz of the bedroom, will try to look at clothes again this morning and fill another bag. If I keep too much of the too big things I will never fit back into them, if I cs them I will put on weight:rotfl:The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. I Kondo'd my emails so I don't get shop updates.... but they have her on their site and suggest products under her principles. Oh, the irony!

Weight loss for week away was a fraction over 1lb. A bit disappointed because it felt like more but still, a loss while on hols is an achievement for me (our family has a bad habit of 'treating' ourselves to fattening foods).
At home all day today and glancing round wondering why a number of things are not in their place??
DH has left 8 or 9 dvds beside the player instead of putting them in cupboard below Grrr:mad:
I have left re-useable shoppers on chair in kitchen
and there are a few little piles of things that need to go upstairs. So tidying and then cleaning beckon.
In-laws visiting at the weekend so I had better get on with it! I don't want ma-in-law to think he married beneath him, do I ?! :rotfl:
Enjoy the day, especially if you are at the seaside, you lucky things!

If they are selling and promoting her book I guess she, or her agent, must understand what L8kel*and sell??? Her smiling face is in a round about way endorsing their products.........oh I am just cynical but she and L8kl*and are making money out of our clutter, or the need to get rid/organise etc. I doubt if the Cumbrian company would ever endorse (shhhhh) buying fewer things:rotfl:
I have kondoed her book BTW...............I never finished it:o Maybe thats why I am still kondoing:( but I am bringing fewer things into the house :rotfl::T:rotfl:Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

I am surprised at MK selling out to L***land, against the very principles she instills in her book. I guess everyone has their price.
I'm still reeling from reading this morning that a very large, local crisp business has sold out to an American snack firm. This is a food producing county and we are always being prompted to 'buy local produce' - well I wont be buying from that company any more. I don't believe the parent company will be interested in maintaining the local connection and current standards (apparently US food isn't subject to the same stringent rules, at least in the US).
Would I be prepared to sell out for £300million and a fancy title for my CEO? I'm not sure I could honestly say no. But it's OK because I have nothing to sell, now I've Kondoed most of it

I have successfully kondo'd 5 items via gumtree and have enquiries on a few others. I have some more items which I will photograph and list this afternoon.
Today I applied the JFDI* principle in the room of doom and made decisions about things which had been put in there, having been identified as suitable for discarding. I have a bin bag, recycling bag and chazza bag all filling as I work my way through the junk.

Er, I have to stick my head above the parapet to( whispers) say that I bought faux baskets from Lakel4nd for a large cupboard, after releasing stuff. I now have 2 lovely, organised shelves, with each type of product in its own basket. I can easily lift any basket out to retrieve required item. It made a vast improvement on the storage and my sanity! :rotfl:
other areas I have indeed used shoe boxes or other receptacles that were to hand and they work well in their own locations, just to corall things together.
Shall I slink away, hanging my head in shame..........?

Just joined this KonMari thread, having come across the tag on Tumblr. Working my way through the book right now. Have just Kondo'd my bookshelf, leaving... well... The essentials, if you will. Donated the books I haven't even thought about in the past year to Barnardos, leaving me with a LOT more space. Have another two boxes and a bag of books to go, sitting by the front door ready for me to take down there tomorrow.0

MK at Lake£and, oh the irony indeed! Had a look at the link, thank you for posting it Luxor4t - £17.39 for a toothbrush organiser anyone? :rotfl:
Been shredding madly today whilst OH was here to empty it. Nearly there with the boxes from the loft. Need to keep a couple of SE invoices and agency payslips to prove what I was doing 10 years ago as they are my most recent employment records. Really don't want to but if I am ever able to work again I will need some sort of evidence of what I was doing previously.
Have been doing a simplification of my finances although having opened a new savings account to take the place of two others, they have now announced a reduction in the interest rate . Anyway, can also get rid of a couple of files in the filing cabinet as a result of making other changes.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅0
