I have fits and starts of this, mainly when I have time!
but have a new resolution, that whenever I pick something up, I decide if it brings me joy, and if not, it goes in the bin or charity shop bag!

I WAS keeping a box for ebay/car booting, but realistically, I'm never going to get round to a car boot, and the charges on ebay put me off selling anything that isn't going to make much, so all off to the charity shop!

my big problem is that I am self employed and work with children - all records etc, have to be kept until each child is 21 yrs old! so in some cases, I have to keep several years worth of paperwork for 15 plus years! my loft is groaning and it doesn't bring me joy!

@GreyQueen - Love the word grubble, going to start using it.. made me chuckle

@Silvasava - I wish I had an apple tree, you're so lucky... maybe I could buy one and plant it... apple crumbles, although I'd then need to plant some rhubarb also... maybe when I finished Konmarie...

@lilian1977 - I do the room most people visit or use

Well I really need to sort through my crochet stuff, I've put it off long enough, I did flylady my kitchen yesterday, so once I've done my wool, the kitchen will be easier to do as it's sparkling :jjust the cupboards are over following with stuff...

Hope you all have a great day all whatever you are doing, the weather is miserable here so don't mind staying in and sorting!

Oh GQ, I lurv the word grubble! It also encompasses the grumbling these items do in the background while they sit there!

I kondo'd the cardboard recycling yester and now a well known supermarket wants to know the barcode off a product I had complained about. Hey ho, I sent them my receipt number and the loyalty card I presented on purchase, I assume, if they really can't ID the item from it's product name they could trace it from there. They say they will send vouchers in recompense :) but they haven't said what value :( It's not often that I complain but it is good to be taken seriously.

Housework stage one is completed so I am going to put together something low carb for tea (plus some starch for DH!). Then I need to make a few phonecalls to sort out plans for the weekend.

Weather is bleh here today so happy to indoors jobs!

Still not got to grips with the mugs stash but inspiration struck yester, I will root some out for nephew who is just moving into his first flatshare. It is definitely easier to kondo if you can find a recipient, but I am mindful not to force things on folks just to get them out of my house :rotfl:

Oh, don't forget Lillian, do a category not a room! So all handbags, all books, all linen, etc etc. Although, that said, most of us have gone off piste and done a room or a cupboard if that has felt right at the time! The logic of getting everything in one category together in one place and then testing it with your joyometer is definitely the best way to do it, because, believe me, you will think you have 'done clothes' but you will find more that evaded your first go if you are not strict!! :D

    Also loving grubble!

Well I turned my mattress. Only from head to foot. But it was soo easy.

Previous method involved huge sighs, glum face at prospect of ordeal, clearing clutter from tops of cupboards so that no precious items aka junk were damaged, heaving mattress into position so that it stood on end, tugging and lifting it involving all sorts of awkward postures, then replacing it on bed and putting all the precious items aka junk back on top of cupboards. At least an hour of effort and humbug.

New method with cupboards recently kondoed - sail in from work, put handbag in bedroom, suddenly decide to turn mattress, slide mattress about 3 feet down from top of bed then swivel into crossways position, then swivel once more to complete the turn, remove fitted sheet and put in washer, put kettle on, all smiles. 10 mins max, easy peasy.

Memo to self - keep decluttering, the payback is immense.

Purchased new jacket and top in c/shop today, both new with tags. They seemed like Good Buys in the shop, hence I parted with £8. Got them home, tried them on again, but they are not sparking anything. They are going back tomorrow otherwise they will hang in perpetuity in wardrobe as unworn Good Buys. Instead, I'll just say goodbye....

Thanks dragonette :) I certainly struggle to keep up with dishes, believe me. If I hadn't bought a dishwasher when I moved here, thats all I'd be doing. And the layers of dust in some areas has to be seen to be believed. And there's the spider who's made her home on the kitchen windowsill, and I really should move her - you don't, they go on to have babies, and thats something you really don't want inside the house ... its a lot of work, though, and I just can't do it right now. Do what you can, and let the rest go ...

I am assuming you are a childminder........ask the local council if they can archive it. That much paper in your attic is a fire risk if nothing else:eek: Or get it transferred onto digital storage?

DD is back to uni in a month so i will mostly put up with her stuff in the conservatory and her bedroom and just ensure everything else is tidy.

DD2 is back from her 3 week climbing adventures in Europe.........rucksacks,gear,clothes etc strewn through the house:eek: I had managed to get the downstairs looking tidy and clutter free these last few weeks:mad: Anyway she has 24 hours to clear up - getting your photos on social media is obvs more important:o I have done 4 loads of washing already!!
