Fingers crossed for Lolly. Poor little mite.....
The week my husband died a half starved cat started paying us a visit. You can guess the rest.......he's now sleek and healthy, happily dozing next to me on the sofa.
He's a handsome boy and very affectionate.
Still not done a tip run yet, will do it on Friday when DS2 is off becauseI need his muscles......
Well done to all of you selling your unwanted clothes.
I am steadily losing weight so I think I will try and sell my nicer things once they get too big.0 -
Hi everyone
Well done to you all - going great (the Grace Bros comment says it all and really dates me!).
Well done Mav on Lolly, hope she recovers.
Too much RL going on to do much KM at present, but little bits trickle out, and much joy.
Take care

PC gone, monitor gone, success at last!
Have also kondoed the ethernet extension lead that BT so kindly provided for free for the bedroom (that old desktop pc did not do wireless.) So clip by clip and foot by foot, it's been removed from the skirting. There was a lot of it... And the relevant manuals have gone now, too.“All shall be well, and all shall be well and all manner of thing shall be well.”0 -
Good Afternoon all...Hope that are all, happy and healthy.
Have been enjoying all the posts over the past few weeks that I have not been able to post.
RL & WL getting in the way of kondoing, however a few things have been leaving the house and that has made me happy.
Went through loads of sewing magazines - took out the articles and how to's that I wanted. Rest of the magazines went into recycling. Sewing patterns that I knew I wasn't going to do or even attempt have now left via streetlife to someone who will appreciate them. I do need to start sewing again so I don't forget what I have learnt, but also need to start studying again for the Dec ACCA exams that I want to take.
We also worked out with the glorified shed that we have in the back, that we need to start clearing out junk that we don't need and also is not ours either. Have made a start - old cardboard boxes have been put into recycling. Old mugs that we found in the back have also been gotten rid off to a happy recipient.
Little and often is the key.
It will all come together with a five year plan that we have in mind.
Have a good rest of the weekend all.

mavvymoo Gentle cuddles to little Lolly - I hope she'll be all right. It's great that she ate a whole pouch of food - I hope it didn't all come out at the other end shortly afterwards!0

Hi,
I have been reading but not commenting as I haven't made huge strides in my own kondoing. V sad news about IQueen a little while back.
I have been assisting with some kondoing at the parents' pad though. It's not in the same league as GQ'S adventures so I fear I don't have any good stories for you.
We emptied out the sideboard in the dining room. Probably last done 15 years ago when they moved here and thankfully it wasn't too bad. The hoard of cake forks are going, along with the exceedingly long handled salad forks and a random beer stein. We also went through the 'drinks cabinet', which is basically all the bottles that sit on top of the sideboard.
A few bottles of vintage beer/lager tipped down the sink along with a bottle of Martini Ross that was dateless and has been hanging around for at least 20 years I reckon. Mum did a quick taste test on the sherries (at least that was her excuse). Asked for my opinion but as I don't drink the stuff I said I wasn't the best judge of whether it was drinkable. I should have held out for the port testing but one bottle had definitely turned and the other passed the sniff test so no comparisons to make.
Two bottles of unopened whiskey liqueur have been handed over to relatives who might like it, along with some Pimms and an ancient, but sealed bottle of Cinzano. It had a wax seal so heaven knows how long it's been sat around. Again it's been a stalwart of the sideboard for many many years! About time it got enjoyed, I'm sure it's matured well!
We also went through a crate of music, a pile of piano music will go to a teaching friend, another pile to the charity shop. The recycling bag was topped up with another pile of tatty stuff and photocopies, including my recorder music (I had the honour of progressing to treble recorder at primary school) and clarinet music, where it appears I made the step from lowly 3rd clarinet in the middle school band to 2nd clarinet, but never got promoted to 1st clarinet. I think I've always been destined never to have the melody/tune of a song. I now sing in a choir and I sing a part equivalent to alto, so we generally always have the harmonies.
I need to brave the room of doom in a little while to start retrieving camping gear for a trip. I have a few days at home afterwards so I'm planning to tackle some kondoing. I have some furniture that I need to get listed on a local selling page or ebay"Does it spark joy?" - Marie Kondo

Morning all
Went to see the Glenn Miller orchestra yesterday with Dh followed by a meal at a local eatery, it was rather joyful came back to 'cake' made from a watermelon by dd3 it looked lovely and tastes well of watermelon. He's taken some in his lunchbox and we'll be sharing it over the next few days.
Busy all day today then going to have a good tidy and hopefully pull a few more visits to the attic in this week.
It's raining again here but I did kondo a few weeds yesterday morning and bought some rather joyful plants at the boot so have them to put in when there is a break in the weather.
Better shift the lads and get easy to face the day I suppose.
Hope you get something joyful in your day.SPC~12 ot 124
