Our local B & Q is closing down so everything is reduced. We are planning to repaint all the rooms soon, so one Wednesday with an extra 10 per cent off for old folk, did a massive shop. One week later, we did a garage clear out and found bags of unused brushes, rollers etc. Back to B & Q for a refund. 23 pounds better off. Woo!0

Oh, but isn't it a swine when you find a bag that's full of assorted komono, some useful, some not? Some from hurried tidying up, some from when I moved 10 months ago and was in the chuck it in a bag and get moved phase... Ah well.

Well, 5 days in the hall is 5 days too long... The desktop tower, which was going off to an expert to have its hard drive removed, hadn't moved.
So, undeterred, I set about removing the hard drive myself. (I am very grateful to YouTube...)
Tower is now in car ready to be recycled asap. Relief.“All shall be well, and all shall be well and all manner of thing shall be well.”0 -
When I came home from work today,I did a bit of guerrilla kondoing of weeds growing through the pavers in a neighbour's parking space.... Took 2 minutes if that, and made me smile.
Well done, Serendipitous on removing the hard drive -so satisfying to do it yourself and keep up the momentum.
I'm a bit weary tonight so a nice hot bath and a read in bed are on the cards.0 -
I broke my foot about 6 weeks ago, and have been told to rest it at much as possible. So I've been off work but not been doing much - although I am getting through quite a lot of my book piles! Today decided to go through my jumper drawer. I was horrified. I had 40 jumpers -40!!! - and have put 14 either on the charity or selling pile. I think I'll need to go back through the drawer in a few weeks, as a few of the ones I put back I was a bit undecided as to whether they sparked joy or not.
What does everyone else do if something might or might not spark joy?0 -
Needed to put a couple of things in the loft today ( they will be removed in September!) I'm trying to bring something down to sort/Kondo/CS every time I go up there. Came down with a large box of fabric, most of which will either go for ragging or to the Hospice craft shop - only one piece kept. A carrier bag of Christmas cards and birthday cards from 94!!!!!! (Why???) All gone to recycling. There's also a brand new set of 'arrers' that have not been used as DH no longer shoots. I think they got overlooked when he sold his equipment. No you can't have them GQ - you have enough!
Not what I intended to do but it's stuff out of the doorSmall victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
I've only got a dozen arrows, silvasava, but as I only need four at a time, this is more than sufficient.
Well done on guerilla weeding, wee midgie, I like that idea.
I have been on the allotment and then did a tip run and wombled something before it went over the side and got it back up to the allotment which is where it will be used (timber). Extra bike journeys are tiring but sheer joyousness was powering me along, I'm very happy tonight.
:jPlus I have the first of the 2016 broad beans which I am about to steam and serve with butter.
Life is good when you're absolutely delighted with some secondhand timber and a broken (but mend-able!) ceramic planter. I am nothing if not a cheap date, lol.:rotfl:
My mind is still boggling at mrs-moneypenny's epic recycling mountain this morning. What a relief not to have so much flammable material above your head.
Righty, didn't get back in until 8 pm so must cook supper and start to wind down from my Tigger-like bounciness over timber acquistions. But first I will bounce around the flat to Talking Heads again.:D
This ain't no party, this ain't no disco, this ain't no fooling around.....Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Hi Lucy Lemon, it's straightforward, if you are dithering then I think that must mean the item did not have that Spark that made it joyous, did it?
I know I can be more ruthless on a second pass a few days later - not what MK advocates of course! So, yes, we all* have some indecisive moments, but it gets easier as you practice :rotfl:
* maybe not all, reading back!
MI have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.0 -
You are right about the amount of paper that was stored up there GQ it was rediculous, worse still was the waterbed frame that was solid wood wrapped in thick foam padding and covered in draylon. That was a fire and fume hazard on its own. All now safely gone.
I still have much more to do up there but feel like I'm breaking the back of it.
I think my house must have breathed a sigh of relief at the amount of stuff thats left this week.SPC~12 ot 124
