Good to read that you have had some time off today greenbee. Hopefully you'll get a good nights sleep.

Down to 2 trade magazines to read plus a few articles which I have torn out which need to be read in greater detail. Brain wasn't working too well today so deleted loads of emails dating back to 2005 from my inbox which has felt very cathartic. Even though I haven't been consciously thinking about them, it does feel good to get rid.

    :) Morning all.

I feel sorry for all those gardening on clay. I garden on silty (i.e. slightly clay-y soil) and that's enough of a trial.

Yesterday was perfect for weeding as it was the second dry day after 6 rainy ones, which meant that the weeds themselves were dry but the soil hadn't had time to pull that old set-the-roots-in-concrete malarkey, so I was able to crack on and did 4 hours' work. I found I do have beetroots after all (they were hiding in the horsetail plantation, lol).:)

It was a drop in the ocean compared to what I could have done but, at this time of year, you can only do so much. And my grass path is turning into a hay meadow depsite my best efforts. Hey ho, tomorrow is anothe day and I may get up there for a while after w*rk.

My freegle pick-up yesterday afternoon happened as per arrangement and another item due to go at some point today. In terms of volume, each thing equates to about half a carrier bagful, but in terms of peace of mind, they weigh more heavily than that.

Shed is still a hell-hole, but weeds & seeds have priortiy claim on my time and energy right now. Besides, if I leave it a few more weeks, the spiders will be able to pass things out to me when I ask for them.:rotfl:

ETA; another freegler requesting the other item (the other half of the thing which couldn't find a taker as a whole thing) and it's going off tomorrow am. Well pleased I persisted with this.

    Hi All

I have started a new charity idea for our village :o I am buying all the clothes from a Charity shop when they clear them out to go for ragging.

Let me explain :rotfl:When you donate your clothes to a small local charity shop they put them up for sale after two weeks they reduce them and they then have another week. After the 3 weeks the big chains move them to another area or shop. But the small shops with only one shop bag them up for recycling they get £2.80 for an 8 kg bag (which is between 50-60 items) They need to collect 10 bags as thats the minimum the recycling company will collect at a time so they have to store it.

So I am buying the bags every week and selling it on.I am having big clothes sale once a month for which ever charity we choose :D and changing it every 3 months (The first 3 months is Help for Heros) Every thing at £1 an item and our first one was really busy :Tand we raised £150

I also found out the bric a brac type stuff they dont sell goes to landfill after 3 weeks and they have to pay for that privelige. So we are collecting a box a week of that and I have put another friend of mine who sells for charity on to them and they are collecting the rest on a Friday :T

Anything not good enough for selling I am taking zips, and buttons off for dressmakers and any fabric that is good we are cutting up for crafters etc :D

I am quite enjoying doing this and feeling I am doing a little bit of good and NONE comes into my house as its sorted down the village hall.
I have been donated 4 really good 6ft clothes rails for our venture so we are organised and its easy to set up :D

So this is what I have been up to in my spare time and its so nice to have the time to be able to do this. Before MK I never would have been able to take this on. So if you are down this way and need to kondo some items we would give them a good home :rotfl:

Me too Karmacat, I have even decided to give up my weekly session at animal charity shop. I have recently been diagnosed with (CVID), basically having no working immune system and I feel that it takes too much out of me and takes me days to recover from (I think that you might get what I am saying KC?)

The two best things to come from the diagnosis is that a) I, hopefully, will be taught to administer antibody replacement therapy, for the rest of my life and b) I now know why I have been crawling through my life like a zombie for the past few years, I have 90+ year old neighbours which have been making me feel like I am lazy:(

I keep quitely plodding at the K'ing, I eventually want a calm uncluttered home and each small bag that leaves here gives me a boost. The house is not awful, but I have learnt that it is OK to get use from things and then pass them on to others and be more realistic about the stuff I had acquired for my retirement that will probably never be used, also there now seem to be very few things that I "have to keep" because of sentimental attachment.

Have a great day everyone, the MM household is off for a short walk at local beauty spot, a light lunch and then on to Osteopath appointment, having dropped off some re-cycleable stuff at centre in next town (we now have to drive 10 miles each way, and they wonder why there is so much fly-tipping:()

I know exactly what you mean, yes :kisses3: I've felt tired and sick all this week after the success of attending the family wedding I was trying for, and its going to take me a while more to get my strength back. Though I do continue to do the easy bits of paper-kondoing (and weed-kondoing).

I am in the under-stair cupboard and in despair too.
(Well, not literally 'in' atm, I have crawled out for some fresh air. I really didn't choose the best day for doing this as it is so muggy here!)

I thought I knew what was in the cupboard, but it has multiplied. I can't deal with some items as they are not mine to decide on - that is the easy part!

I have halved the clothing on the hanging rail - the culled items are all suitable for eBay (don't feel like eBaying though :().

I have managed to fling a couple of handbags into the C-for-C bag, found a couple of items for the CS and so one stacking box is emptied but the others are proving a problem as it is all stuff that is talking to me about how expensive, desirable and potentially useful it all is..... is there a 'lying on floor grumbling and pouting' emoticon?

I shall have lunch and attempt to restore some sort of optimism. Thank you for letting me moan :o
I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.
